<br /> MINUTES <br /> City Council <br /> (Cont.) <br /> April 9, 1980 <br /> Mr. McCumber informed the Council that he spoke to his neighbors <br /> regarding Mr. Dahl's business, and none of the neighbors had any <br /> objections. <br /> Mrs. Scalze stated that the McCumber property is spot zoning, and <br /> the Council has to consider the whole neighborhood. <br /> McCumber stated that he does place restrictions on his tenants as to <br /> their hours of business so that they do not interfere with the homeowners <br /> in the area. McCumber further stated that if he could not rent his <br /> property for office or warehouse use, he feels he should be able to <br /> rent it to someone he feels is suitable. McCumber stated that the <br /> Council should not tell him who he can or can't rent his property to. <br /> McCumber stated that the condition of his property is better than <br /> most people's. McCumber stated that if Mr. Dahl did not comply with <br /> 'the conditions of his license, the Council could pull the license. <br /> Mr. DeBace stated that then the Council would be in a position of putting <br /> someone out of business. <br /> Mayor Hanson stated that he would be in favor of granting Mr. Dahl the <br /> license. flanson stated that the Council has to live with this <br /> industrial piece of property being located in a surrounding R-1 area. <br /> Mr. Dahl appeared before the Council to say that he feels the Council <br /> should take his word for the type of operation he would be running. <br /> • Mr. Dahl also felt that he should be given the opportunity to start <br /> a business as other people in Little Canada have been given the same <br /> opportunity. <br /> Mrs. Scalze stated that there have been mistakes made in Little Canada <br /> and that this Council should not continue to make these mistakes. <br /> Mr. Nadeau introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 80-4-141 - DENYING THE AUTO REPAIR LICENSE <br /> REQUESTED BY MR. DAHL <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br /> Ayes (4) Nadeau, Scalze, Fahey, DeBace. <br /> Nayes (1) Hanson. <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br /> This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Page 91. <br /> Donald Mr. Don Gagne appeared before the Council requesting approval of a <br /> Gagne building permit for the construction of a single family home on <br /> Request some property which he owns that is zoned B-2. <br /> Single <br /> Family Fiome The Planning Commission has recommended approval of this request <br /> In B-2 Area provided the property is rezoned to residential. Mr. Gagne stated <br /> that he is willing to have the property rezoned. Mr. Gagne also stated <br /> that the surrounding property owners within 200 feet have no objection <br /> to the rezoning.
