<br /> MINUTES <br /> City Council <br /> (Cont.) <br /> May 14, 1980 <br /> Capital The Engineer presented to the Council a Capital Improvements Program <br /> Improvements for the City. The Engineer stated that the Council might want to <br /> Program include sewer and water improvements in this program, however, the <br /> policy has been to not include anything until it has been petitioned <br /> for. <br /> The Engineer also presented to the Council maps showing where sewer <br /> and water has yet to be put in in the City. <br /> The Mayor stated that unless there are requests for sewer anti water, <br /> not to put it into the program. <br /> The Engineer stated that he would be bringing in plans for storm sewer on <br /> County Road B-2 at the next meeting, and the 6-2 drainage should be <br /> included in the Capital Improvements Program. <br /> Councilman Fahey asked about a pedistriam walkway over 35E being included. <br /> Councilman DeBace stated that the City should start planning this now. <br /> Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 80-5-174 - INSTRUCTING TfIE CITY ENGINEER <br /> TO INQUIRE AS TO THE STEPS NECESSARY TO CONSTRUCT A <br /> PEDESTRIAN CROSS-WALK SOMEWHERE IN LITTLE CANADA OVER <br /> 35E <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br /> Ayes (5) Fahey, Scalze, DeBace, Hanson, Nadeau. <br /> Nayes (0). <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br /> This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Page 113. <br /> Sleepy Engineer Carley reported to the Council that he found that running <br /> Hollow the drainage down the Highway right-of-way would be illegal. This <br /> Drainage was to be part of the solution in correcting the Sleepy Hollow drainage <br /> problem. Carley reported that the water will have to be run up the <br /> service road. This will increase the cost due to blacktop that will <br /> have to be replaced. There will also be an easement that will have <br /> to be obtained. Carley also reported that the Highway Department is <br /> not sure that they will participate in 'the cost as they recently had <br /> a $100 million cut in their budget. <br /> Councilman Fahey stated that the Engineer should obtain signed agreements <br /> from thos'who will be participating in the cost of the project and <br /> should proceed from there.. The Engineer stated that it will take <br /> approximately six weeks to get the contracts signed. <br /> Page -10- <br /> <br />
