<br /> MINUTES <br /> City Council <br /> (Cont.) <br /> May 14> 1980 <br /> Sewer Attorney Parks stated that he has reviewed the Metro Waste Control <br /> Infiltration Agreement contract between 'the City and Metro Waste Control. It seems <br /> Study that a lot of cities are being asked to enter into these agreements. <br /> This involves the testing of sanitary waste water to determine infiltration <br /> inflow. There is a Federal grant available that will pay approximately <br /> 90% of the cost of this study. The City would pay the remaining 10%. <br /> The City Engineer stated that the cost of such a study would run <br /> approximately $20,000 to $25,000. The Engineer stated that there would <br /> be a benefit to the City to find out where the infiltration of the <br /> sanitary sewer system is coming. <br /> Councilman DeBace asked who would be making this study. The Engineer <br /> replied that the City would have to make the study. The Engineer asked <br /> the Council to let him study the program a little further and he would <br /> report back at the next Council meeting. <br /> As the City was overdue in replying to the Metro Waste Control on this <br /> study, Council felt that action should be taken on the agreement at <br /> tonight's meeting. <br /> Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 80-5-172 - ENTERING INTO THE AGREEMENT <br /> WITH THE METRO WASTE CONTROL COMMISSION FOR INSPECTION <br /> OF THE CITY'S SEWER SYSTEM FOR INFILTRATION <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Nadeau. <br /> Ayes (4) Fahey, Nadeau, Hanson, Scalze. <br /> Nayes (0). <br /> Mr. DeBace was not present at the time of Council vote. <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br /> This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Page 112. <br /> Jenny Mr. Parks reported that payment for the Costa easement was made in <br /> Costa October of 7975. The payment took place approximately one year after <br /> Easement the easement is dated. The easement is dated September of 1974. <br /> Parks stated that he is looking for the original agreement with Mrs. <br /> Costa's signature. <br /> The revised easement was for 30 feet. Attorney Parks stated that <br /> Pete Costa is waiting for him to show Mr. Costa this easement. <br /> Councilman Fahey suggested that the minutes of Council meetings around <br /> that time be checked for any information on the situation. Fahey <br /> suggested that the tape of the meeting be listened to and that Jenny <br /> and Pete Costa could also listen to the tape. <br /> The Attorney informed 'the Council that in addition to the cash payment <br /> Mrs. Costa received for payment for the easement, she received some <br /> work on her property in payment also. Parks thought that the City may <br /> have done approximately $1,000 worth of work on the Costa property. <br /> Page -8- <br /> <br />
