<br /> MINUTES <br /> City Council <br /> June 11, 1980 <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Nadeau. <br /> Ayes (4) Fahey, Nadeau, Scalze, Hanson. <br /> Hayes (0). <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br /> This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Page 132. <br /> Approval Of City Clerk Chlebeck informed the Council that 'the taxes on the Last <br /> Last Chance Chance Saloon have not been paid. Mr. Chlebeck has informed Mr. Saad <br /> Saloon that the taxes must be paid by June 30, 1980. <br /> Liquor <br /> License Councilman Fahey stated that the fence at the Last Chance Saloon is in <br /> need of repairs. Mayor Hanson stated that the Building Inspector should <br /> follow up on the fence. <br /> Mr. Nadeau introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 80-6-207 - APPROVING THE ON SALE INTOXICATING <br /> LIQUOR LICENSE OF TfIE LAST CHANCE SALOON SUBJECT TO MR. <br /> SAAD'S PAYING THE TAXES ON THE PROPERTY BY JUNE 30, 1980 <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Hanson. <br /> Ayes (4) Nadeau, Hanson, Scalze, Fahey. <br /> Hayes (0). <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br /> This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Page 133. <br /> Hammond Mayor Hanson informed Council that they had copies of the letter from <br /> Land fill the Army Carps of Engineers in which the Corps denied a fill permit <br /> for the easterly portion of 'the Flammond property, but stated that a fill <br /> permit for the westerly portion of the property is not necessary. <br /> Mr. Bruce Folz, representing Mr. Hammond, appeared before the Council <br /> requesting a permit from the City for filling the westerly portion of <br /> the property. Mr. Folz informed the Council that the DNR and Corps <br /> have determined that it is not necessary for them to act on the westerly <br /> portion of the property. Mr. Folz also informed the Council that the <br /> Watershed District has stated that the western site could be filled. <br /> Mr. Tansey> another representative of Mr. Hammonds, informed the <br /> Council that Mr. Hammond is willing to grant the necessary easements <br /> to the City, but that Mr. Hammond does not want the public to have <br /> rights on his property. <br /> Mrs. Scalze suggested that the easements on the tiammoncl property should <br /> be granted and then cleaned before the permit is granted to Mr. Hammond. <br /> Mayor Hanson asked how much cooperation the City can expect from the <br /> County and Department of Transportation in this matter. The Engineer <br /> replied that the cleaning of the ditch will not stop a flood. The <br /> Engineer feels the problem is much bigger than this. The Engineer <br /> estimates the cost of cleaning the ditch to be between $5,000 and <br /> $10,000. <br /> Page -6- <br /> <br />
