MINUTES
City Council
June 25, 1980
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 80-6-234 - CLOSING THE PUBLIC HEARING
ON THE PROPOSED ZONING ORDINANCE
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Hanson.
ayes (4) Fahey, Hanson, Scalze, DeBace.
Nayes (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Page 148.
Councilman DeBace stated that he would vote in favor of adopting the
new Zoning Ordinance, but he was not 100% satisfied with the new Ordinance.
DeBace stated he had some concerns with the definitions of the new
zoning districts.
The City Clerk indicated that the Council would have to indicate which
version of pages 18 and 19 the Council would like included in the new
Zoning Ordinance. The City Planner submitted to the Council two
versions of pages 18 and 19 of the Ordinance. The difference between
the two versions dealt with the distance a fence could be erected from
a property line.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 80-6-235 - ADOPTING THE ZONING ORDINANCE
WITH THE FIRST DRAFT OF PAGES 18 AND 19 WHICH DELETE TEIE
PROVISION OF NOT ALLOWING A FENCE TO BE BUILT CLOSER THAN
TFIREE FEET FROM THE PROPERTY LINE
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze.
Ayes (4) Fahey, Scalze, Hanson, DeBace.
Nayes (0
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Page 149.
Mr. Nielson stated that he would be making some minor changes in the
boundary lines on the zoning map. Councilman DeBace stated that the
City Clerk or City Attorney could help the Planner with these changes.
The Planner stated that he would probably use the Section Maps to make
these changes. These Section Maps should be the official City record.
Councilman Fahey stated that he would like it reflected in the minutes
that the Council took no action whatsoever on rezoning any properties
and the zoning map referred to is only for discussion purposes and is
not the official zoning map of tY~e City.
The City Planner informed the Council that his office received a letter
objecting to the suggested down-zoning of the property along Ruth Street.
The property is presently zoned R-3 and the Zoning Ordinance is suggesting
it be zoned R-1.
Page -3-
