MINUTES
City Council
July 9, 1980
The Mayor instructed the City Engineer "to inform the Diana Lane
homeowner association that the lift station does have the capacity
to handle two additional houses.
Mr. Lee informed the Council that he intends to hook the sewers which
will service the resulting two lots to the Diana Lane line.
The Engineer stated that these lines will be private lines.
Councilman DeBace stated that Mr. Lee will not be able to run the two
houses into one sewer line. The Engineer stated that Mr. Lee would
have to put in one public line and then run the two houses into that
line. Mrs. Scalze stated that the first lot will have to have a sewer
easement over lot two.
Mrs. Scalze stated that the Planner is recommending this division be
referred to the City of Maplewood as a small portion of the property
is in Maplewood. Councilman Fahey stated that it doesn't really affect
Maplewood as it is only a small portion of property in that city.
Mr. DeBace introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION M0. 80-7-246 - APPROVING THE CHARLES LEE
PROPERTY DIVISION AS PRESENTED SUBJECT TO MR. LEE'S
OBTAINING AN EASEMENT FOR THE SEWER LINE
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Hanson.
ayes (5) DeBace, Hanson, Scalze, Nadeau, Fahey.
Nayes (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Page 157.
St. Jude's Mr. Bob Burrow, an architect representing St. Jude's Medical, Inc.,
Medical appeared before the Council. Mr. Burrow informed the Council of the
Facility interest of St. Jude's Medical, Inc. in building its international
headquarters on a piece of property in the area of Highway 36 and
35E. St. Jude's is now in the analysis phase of looking at the property
for this development.
Mr. Burrow stated that St. Jude's immediate needs are for a 50,000
square foot building housing office and manufacturing. 1983 needs
will be for II0,000 of additional space for the same use and by 1985
St. Jude's will need 120,000 of additional space again for office and
manufacturing. Mr. Burrow's stated that at that point the site in
question woul"d be covered at a point of 7%. An additional 27% would
be needed for parking. The site is a 32 acre site. St. Jude's is
considering a two-story building. Over 60% of "the property would remain
green area. St. Jude's would also like to use the existing buffering of
the property and develop in the internal sections of the property.
Page -5-
