<br /> MINUTES <br /> City Council <br /> August 13, 1980 <br /> Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 80-8-284 - DENYING THE REQUEST FOR A <br /> CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT REQUESTED BY MR. SEON ANDERSON <br /> FOR THE OPERATION OF A DUPLEX <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Fahey. <br /> Ayes (5) Scalze, Fahey, Hanson, Nadeau, DeBace. <br /> Noyes (0). <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br /> This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Pages 181 and 182. <br /> Paul Borg Mr. Paul Borg appeared before the Council requesting the rezoning of <br /> Rezoning his property so that he can construct a tri-plex. The property is <br /> Flearing located on Jackson Street south of County Road 62. Mr. Borg also <br /> stated that he did not attend the Planning Commission meeting of <br /> August 7, 1980 as he did not know his request would appear on their <br /> agenda. <br /> Mr. Homer DeLauris of 2350 Jackson Street appeared before the Council. <br /> Mr. DeLauris lives next door to the Borg property. Mr. DeLauris <br /> stated that he was neither for nor against Mr. Borg's request. <br /> Mr. DeLauris stated that what he would like is for Jackson Street <br /> to be improved with blacktop and sewer and water. Mr. DeLauris also <br /> stated that he would be willing to pay his share of these improvements. <br /> The Planner has recommended that the property surrounding the Borg <br /> property all be rezoned. Mr. DeLauris stated that he had no reason <br /> to wish his property be rezoned. <br /> Councilman Fahey stated that he was not aware that the DeLauris home <br /> was located to the south of the Borg property. Fahey stated that he <br /> felt the area was saturated with multi-family housing and he would <br /> be more willing to approve a duplex on the Borg property than a tri-plex. <br /> Mr. DeLauris again stated that his major concerns were getting the <br /> street in on Jackson Street and sewer in. <br /> Fahey also stated that he felt this would be spot-zoning. Fahey <br /> felt the density of the area was already too great. <br /> Mrs. Lee of 145 Viking Drive appeared before the Council to state that <br /> she was opposed to a tri-plex on the 6org property. Mrs. Lee did say <br /> that she was not opposed to a duplex. <br /> Mr. DeBace introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 80-8-285 - CLOSING THE PUBLIC HEARING <br /> ON THE REZONING OF THE PAUL BORG PROPERTY FROM R-1 <br /> TO R-2 <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Fahey. <br /> Ayes (5) DeBace, Fahey, Nadeau, Scalze, Hanson. <br /> Noyes (0 Resolution declared adopted. <br /> This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Page 182. <br /> Page -3- <br /> <br />
