MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
September 8, 1980
A resident of Schletty Woods requested that the Council put it into
the minutes that it was their opinion that the double-fronting lots,
specifically, Lots 1 through 6, Block 2, Schletty Woods Addition,
are located on Schletty Drive and not Little Canada Road.
Councilman DeBace stated that even if the Council made this statement,
a future Council could overturn that statement.
It was stated that there is a 20 foot easement along Little Canada Road
on the back of Lots 1 through 6, Block 2 that was supposed to eliminate
this problem.
Councilman Fahey informed the residents of Schletty 4loods that the Council
cannot control what the County does. Little Canada Road is a County Road,
and if the County made improvements to Little Canada Road, the City cannot
control how the County would assess these improvements. Fahey did state,
however, that the County would have to prove that the property was
benefited by the improvement it would be assessing.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 80-9-328 - APPROVING AND ADOPTING TfIE
ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR IMPROVEMF..NT NO. "/8-10, AUDITOR'S
IMPROVEMENT N0. 78-6, AUD. N0. 1809, D/P N0. 1809 FOR LOTS
1 AND 2, BLOCK 1, SCHLETTY WOODS ADDITION AND THE REMAINING
INVOLVED PROPERTY OWNERS ON LITTLE CANADA ROAD, INTEREST:
10%, INSTALLMENTS: 15 YEARS
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Flanson.
1\yes (5) Fahey, Hanson, Scalze, Nadeau, DeBace.
Nayes (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Pages 212 and 213.
Mayor Hanson stated that Council would now discuss that part of Improvement
No. 78-10 that extends along Edgerton Street from Little Canada Road to County
Road 6-2.
Mr. Clifford Hill asked if the City was considering extending water along
County Road 6-2 or Viking Drive in the future. The Mayor stated that
in October the Council will be considering a petition for watermain and
storm sewer along County Road B-2.
Mr. FIi11 asked if the City had a time limit in which he must connect to
City water. The Mayor informed him that Mr. Hill does not have to connect
if he does not wish to. Mr. Hi11 asked the Council if his well needed
to be replaced, could he replace it or would he have to hook up to City
water. The Mayor informed Mr. Hi71 that he could replace his well and
would not have to hook up to the watermain.
Page -6-
