<br /> MINUTES <br /> City Council <br /> September 10, 1980 <br /> Mr. Borg commented that he made application to construct a tri-plex <br /> before the new Zoning Ordinance was published. Mr. Borg asked the Council <br /> if that meant that his request still fell under the old Zoning Ordinance. <br /> The Planner informed Mr. Borg that his request fell under the City's new <br /> Zoning Ordinance. The Planner stated that the new Ordinance had been <br /> adopted, it was just a technicality that it was not yet published at the <br /> time of the Borg application. <br /> Mr. Borg requested that the Council forget his request for the rezoning <br /> and construction of a tri-plex. Mr. Borg stated that the whole situation <br /> has been dragging on too long and that he was disgusted with the whole <br /> process. <br /> Mayor Hanson stated that Mr. DeLaurias still would like sewer, water and <br /> Jackson Street improved. Councilman Fahey suggested that Mr. DeLaurias <br /> submit a petition to the Council for these improvements signed by 35% <br /> of the affected property owners. <br /> Councilman Fahey stated that the Planner's Report indicated that the <br /> whole area should be rezoned. Fahey stated that he realized that sometimes <br /> the government does not move fast enough. <br /> The Planner stated that the Council does not have any control over the <br /> types of hearing that have to be held on re zonings. The State Law governs <br /> this. <br /> Mr. Borg commented that he has $350 invested in this process. Mr. Borg <br /> also stated that he feels he did not get fair input as he was not made <br /> aware of the Planning Commission meeting and did not receive a copy of <br /> the Planner's report until after that meeting. <br /> Both Councilmen DeBace and Nadeau withdrew their motion. <br /> The Planner stated that he is in the office on the 4th Monday of each month <br /> to help people get through these types of processes. Mr. Borg commented <br /> that he was not told that the Planner was available. <br /> Svenkeson Mr. Andy Svenkeson of 2929 Country Drive appeared before the Council <br /> Auto Repair requesting an auto repair license to do some auto mechanical work. Mr. <br /> License Svenkeson stated that he is going to school, and this would be the way <br /> Request he would earn his living. Mr. Svenkeson stated that the Sheriff's <br /> Department stopped by his home while he was working on a friend s car <br /> and informed him he needed a license to carry out such activities.. <br /> Councilman Fahey stated that he notes from a police report there was <br /> a police raid at this residence and asked Mr. Svenkeson what this was <br /> about. Mr. Svenkeson stated that he was not living at the residence <br /> at the time and does not know the nature of the raid. <br /> Councilman Fahey commented that he would not like to see any auto body <br /> work done of any nature on the premises.
