MINUTES
City Council
October 8, 1980
Mayor Hanson suggested that perhaps the street would not have to be as
wide and perhaps only 40 or 48 feet would be needed.
Councilman Fahey stated that he does not want the commercial properties
backing up on Park Street to have access to Park Street should it be
improved.
Councilwoman Scalze stated that the City could not deny them access
to the Street if they were assessed for it.
The Engineer reported that the portion of Jackson Street near the DeLaurios
property has been petitioned for improvement by sewer and road.
Councilman DeBace suggested that perhaps all that is needed in this area is
a three ton or oil road.
Councilwoman Scalze stated that Mr. Borg will not want these improvements.
Councilman DeBace commented that Mr. Borg would only be assessed for the
benefited property. DeBace also suggested that perhaps only sewer would
be installed.
Councilwoman Scalze asked how much of the road Mr. DeLaurios would be
assessed for. The Engineer replied that the road would go to the middle
of the lot.
The Engineer reported that someone is considering purchasing some property
in the area of the Sleepy Hollow apartments with the idea of developing
some townhouses on the property. The Engineer stated that he has informed
this party of the situation with the drainage of the area. Engineer Carley
stated that this party would pay his share of the drainage project that
has been suggested.
Councilman Fahey suggested that the City be filing its Comprehensive Plan
so that potential purchasers of property in the City are aware of what the
City may be proposing in its Comprehensive Plan for the City. Fahey
further stated that this would put the buyer on notice that the property
is subject to the City's Comprehensive Plan and could be subject to a
pending rezoning.
Councilman DeBace asked if filing the Plan with the Recorder's Office would
put a cloud on the title of the property. The Attorney stated that it would
not.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION DIO. 80-10-392 - INSTRUCTING THAT THE CITY OF LITTLE
CANADA INFORM THE COUNTY RECORDER'S OFFICE THAT THE CITY EIAS
ADOPTED ITS COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND FOR ThiE PARTICULARS OF THE
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN INDIVIDUALS SHOULD MAKE REFERENCE TO THE
PLAN ON FILE WITN THE CITY CLERK'S OFFICE
Page -13-
