MINUTES
City Council
October 8, 1980
Mr. DeBace introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 80-10-397 - TRANSFERRING ThiE LIQUOR LICENSE FROM
IOCEPF~IREAA GOARD TO PATROLITHE ESDABLISHMENT ONAFRIDAY•ANDS~~
SATURDAY NIGI-ITS FROM 10 p.M. UNTIL 1:30 A.M. OR UNTIL ALL
PATRONS OF TFIE ESTABLISHMENT ARE GONE
THE foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Nadeau.
ayes (5) DeBace, Nadeau, Hanson, Scalze, Fahey.
Noyes (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Page 258,
Nardini Mrs. Nardini appeared before the Council and reported that a truck hit
Sewer a sewer clean-out on County Road B-2 this evening. Councilman DeBace
Problems stated that he would check this out.
Mrs. Nardini asked the Council when something would be done regarding
'the problems she has with her sewer backing up.
The Engineer stated that the City would like to dig up the sewer at the
property line and see where the problem is. The Engineer commented that
some of the problem would have been caused from the filling the Plardini's
did in their front yard.
Mrs. Nardini commented that the problem was there before the filling was
ever done.
Mrs. Nardini suggested that if sewer and water are approved for County
Road B-2 perhaps the time these are installed would be the time
to check out her sewer problems.
Mayor Hanson suggested that the Council wait until the improvement hearing
in November before taking action on the Nardini sewer problems.
City Mr. Richard McNamara appeared before the Council and informed the Council
Insurance that he has been investigating Public Official Legal Liability insurance
for the City. Mr. McNamara stated that claims under this type of insurance
are increasing. This type of insurance would protect an individual from
a negligence suit. The City can only cover one of its officials for expenses
under such a suit, and could not cover any judgment that might be made.
Mr. McNamara estimated that this coverage might cost the City around
$3,575 per year with a $5,000 deductible. Mr. McNamara stated that he
would like to do an extensive study of the needs of the City and see what
the premium would be for this coverage. The coverage would cover all
public officials and their assistants and persons working under the Council.
Mayor Hanson stated that he would like Mr. McNamara to develop this
further and come back to the Council with his findings.
Page -17-
