<br /> MINUTES <br /> City Council <br /> October 8, 1980 <br /> P4r. McNamara informed Council that some of the things City officials <br /> are being sued for are failing to uncover embezzelment, failing to <br /> buy enough insurance for fraud, failing to send out notices of public hearings, <br /> misconduct, failing to come to meetings. <br /> The City Attorney stated that he knows of one City where there were suits <br /> against five individuals in a twelve month period. <br /> Councilman Fahey stated that he would like Mr. McNamara to come back with <br /> a list of the specific things that would be covered by this insurance. <br /> Noise Councilwoman Scalze stated that the Noise Ordinance should be referred to <br /> Ordinance the Planning Commission for their review before the Council takes action <br /> on it. <br /> The Attorney indicated that the proposed Noise Ordinance includes some <br /> sections on testing and management procedure. This might require the <br /> City to purchase some testing equipment. The Attorney indicated that <br /> the City could enter into an agreement with other cities to participate <br /> in purchasing this equipment. <br /> Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 80-10-398 - REFERRING THE PROPOSED NOISE <br /> ORDINANCE TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Fahey. <br /> Ayes (5) Scalze, Fahey, Hanson, Nadeau, DeBace. <br /> Nayes (0). <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br /> This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Page 258. <br /> Easements Mrs. Scalze asked the Attorney if he had obtained the Sprosty and Johnson <br /> easements. The Attorney indicated that he had. <br /> Mrs. Scalze commented that the Yorkton Development easements are the only <br /> ones that the City has pending. <br /> 1981 Mayor Hanson asked the Council whether they felt the Council should have <br /> Sheriff's a meeting with the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department to discuss their <br /> Contract 1981 contract. Council felt that a meeting would be in order. <br /> Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 80-10-399 - REQUESTING THAT A REPRESENTATIVE <br /> OF THE RAMSEY COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT APPEAR AT THE <br /> DECEMBER COUNCIL MEETING TO DISCUSS THE SHERIFF'S 7981 CONTRACT <br /> Page -18- <br /> <br />
