MINUTES <br />City Council <br />January 7, 19Q1 <br />Mrs. Nardini stated that with the size of the Recreation budget it <br />might be time to consider hiring full-time personnel. Councilman <br />Fahey stated that the Recreation Department could not operate with <br />a full-time director and still maintain its budget where it is. <br />Fahey also informed the Council that Mr. Morelan has now grouped <br />the part-time personnel by class and has set pay scales accordingly. <br />Council Mayor Hanson made the following Council appointments for the year 1987: <br />Appointments <br />P~ayor Hanson - Public Safety Coordinator; <br />Counci1man Fahey - Administration Coordinator; <br />Councilwoman Nardini - Building & Zoning Coordinator; <br />Councilman Forsberg - Utility Coordinator; <br />Councilwoman Scalze - Parks & Recreation Coordinator. <br />Flppointments Mayor Hanson stated that three Councilmembers shou7d be appointed to <br />To Fire the Fire Department Pension Board. Hanson stated that as Councilmen <br />Dept. Forsberg and Fahey are members of the Fire Department, Councilwomen <br />Pension Scalze and Nardini and Mayor Hanson would be appointed to serve on <br />6oard the Board. <br />Ramsey Mayor Nanson reported that it is necessary to appoint a representative <br />County to the Ramsey County League and one alternate to the League, The City <br />League C7erk has served as the representative in the past, and Mayor Hanson <br />Appointments appointed the City Clerk to service as the City's representative again <br />in 1981. <br />Mayor Nanson suggested that he would contact the P1anning Commission <br />to see if any of its members are interested in serving as the <br />alternate to the Ramsey County League. <br />Youth Mayor Hanson suggested that the Council advertise the position as <br />Service City representative to the Morth Suburban Youth Service 6ureau. <br />Bureau. <br />Councilman Fahey has served as the City's representative on the Bureau <br />in the past and he stated that he will continue to do so until someone <br />else can be found for the position. <br />Use Of The City Clerk reported that the Take Off Pounds Sensibly group has <br />City Center requested to use the City Center on Monday evenings at 7 P.M. The <br />TOPS group had been using the North Heights Schoo7, but that school will <br />be closing. <br />It was the consensus of the Council to allow this group the use of the <br />City Center. <br />Page -11- <br />
