MINUTES <br />City Council <br />January 7, 1981 <br />WIC The City Clerk reported that the Ramsey County Community Services uses <br />Program the City Center for a WIC/Nutrition Clinic. The Clerk reported that <br />the parents of children attending this clinic are not supervising their <br />children and they are disrupting the City Center. <br />Mayor Hanson reported that he would write a letter to Ramsey County <br />Community Services regarding this problem ancl inform them that the <br />City will not allow the use of the City Center for this purpose if the <br />situation continues as is. <br />Compensation Mayor Hanson reported that there are seminars that come up that Council <br />For Meetings members may be interested in attending. Nanson stated that Council <br />And Mileage members should feel free to attend these seminars or meeti.ngs and they <br />will be compensated for the cost of the seminars. <br />The subject of Council members attending, for example,Planning Commission <br />meetings and being compensated for the9r attendance at these meetings <br />came up. It was the feeling of the Council that Council members should <br />not be compensated for attending these meetings. The City Attorney also <br />stated that members of the Council should not be members of either the <br />Park Commission or the Planning Commission. <br />Councilman Fahey suggested that Council members be compensated for mileage <br />for meetings attended while on City business outside the City limits. <br />Council determined that the rate of mileage compensation should be 25 cents <br />per mile. <br />Councilman Forsberg stated that a form should be drawn up for the Council <br />to submit their mileage statement. <br />It was also suggested that City staff inembers also be compensated for <br />~ileage while attending meetings or seminars outside the City. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 81-7-24 - DECLARING THAT CITY COUNCIL P4EMBERS <br />WILL BE COMPENSATED FOR ATTENDING MEETINGS OUTSIDE THE CITY <br />OF LITTLE CANADA WHILF ON OFFICIFlL CITY BUSINESS AND FURTHER <br />DECLFlRING THFlT COUNCIL MEMBERS WILL BE COMPENSATED fOR <br />MILEAGE AT A RATE OF 25 CENTS PER MILE FOR MILEFlGE INCURRED <br />WHILE ATTENDING SUCH MEETINGS OR SEMINARS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Scalze, Hanson, Forsberg, Nardini. <br />Nayes (0~. <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 72. <br />Mr. fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTIOPI N0. 81-1-25 - ESTABLISHING Fl MILEAGE COMPENSATION <br />RATE FOR 1981 FOR CITY STAFF MEMBERS ATTENDING MEETINGS ON <br />CITY BUSINESS AT TFIE RFlTE OF 25 CENTS PER MILE <br />Page -12- <br />
