MINUTES City Council January 14, 1981 Mr. Hanson introduced ~he following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTIOPI N0. 81-1-35 - AWARDING THE BID OF PRECISTON LANDSCFlPING FOR TREE REMOVAL CONTINGEMT UPON THE CONTRACT BEING REVIEWED BY THE CITY FlTTORNEY The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Fahey. {{yes (5) Hanson, Fahey, Nardini, Scalze, Forsberg. Nayes (0). Resolution declared adopted. This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 19. City The City Planner reported that there are a number of code violations in Planner Ryan Industrial Park. Some of the violations are prior to the new Zoning Ordinance, but there are some that are after the ordinance. Mr. Nielson stated that he will be in the office on January 26th and he will make a list of these violations. The Planner reminded the Counci7 that a special Council meeting has been set up on the 2IIth of January to review the proposed rezonings in the City. Flt that time the Planner would like to review the status of the Comprehenisve Plan and Metro Council's review of the plan. Metro Council has suspended review of the plan pending some additional information it wants from the City on the Housing Plan. The Planner stated that he will prepare something for this. The Planner informed the Council that there are a number of sign violations in the City. Fle stated that he will make a list of these violations. Mr. Hanson expressed concern that the City's ordinance prohibits signs for advertising purposes. The Planner stated that signs should be for building identification. Mr. Nielson expressed concern over the number of large flashing signs in the City that are a hazard to safety and vis9bility. hlanson stated that the City may have to advise every business in the City about the Sign Ordinance. Counci1man Fahey stated that the Council has more important concerns at this time than to worry about signs. The Council should finish the Comprehensive P7an. The P1anner stated that he would like some direction. There is an ordinance on the books and either the City enforces it or it doesn't. The Council also asked the Planner to take a look at the plan for the Stenger mini-warehouses and be prepared to discuss it at the meeting on the 28th. Tax Mrs. Sca7ze informed the Council that the Park Commission has recommended Forfeited that the City accept the tax forfeited property located on Twin Lake Blvd. Property They are recommending it be used for park purposes.
