MINUTES <br />City Council <br />January 14, 1981 <br />Maryhouse The Attorney stated that he has discussed the warming house situation <br />with the women at Maryhouse and they would like the City to show them <br />that they actually own the property. ~f they do own the property, <br />they are concerned with the taxes they may have been paying on the <br />property. <br />The Flttorney stated that he hopes to find out that Maryhouse does not <br />own the property, but if they do, he feels they may sell the property <br />for the back taxes that they have paid on it. <br />St. Jude's The Engineer stated that the report from St. Jude's regarding their <br />drainage calculations was for the Council's information. <br />Assessment The City Clerk stated that when the Counci1 approves a property division <br />Reapportion- the division goes to the Court Flouse and they request a division of the <br />ment assessments. <br />Division <br />No. 56136 Counc9l has before them an assessment reapportionment for the division <br />of the Jesperson property, known as Division No. 56136. <br />Mr. Hanson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 81-7-40 - APPROVING THE ASSESSMENT <br />REAPPORTIONMENT ON DI ISION N0. 56136 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />~yes (5) Hanson, Sca7ze, Nardini, Forsberg, Fahey. <br />Nayes (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Pages 22 and 23. <br />Halverson The Engineer reported that Mr. Elalverson is disputing his property <br />Property assessment. The Engineer stated to the Council that it was his opinion <br />Assessment that the assessments were properly charged. <br />Eva7uation Mayor Hanson informed the Council that the City has 6een contacted to <br />Of Police participate in an evaluation of the cost effectiveness of the police <br />Contract patrol services. Hanson stated that falcon Heights is one of the <br />leaders in this study. There are some cities that do not seem willing <br />to participate. If that is the case, the cities that do participate <br />wilt be picking up the cost for everyone. Mayor Hanson stated that <br />he feels atl cities should participate. <br />The City Clerk stated that if the contract goes to a joint powers <br />agreement, it will lower the cost of the po1ice contract for some <br />cities, but others, including Little Canada> will pay more. <br />Mr. Hanson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION PlO.
