MINUTES <br />City Council <br />April 22, 1981 <br />Tom <br />Thumb <br />Magazines <br />Letter <br />From <br />Shoreview <br />Land <br />Fi11ing <br />Lot 9, <br />Block 2, <br />Gervais <br />Heights <br />Addition <br />Mayor Hanson reported that the City received a letter from St. John's <br />Home and School regarding the displaying of adult magazines at the <br />Tom Thumb Store. <br />Qoth Mrs. Scalze and Mr. Forsberg stated that they have been at the <br />7om Thumb Store frequently, and have found the magazines to be <br />properly displayed so as to not be offensive. <br />Mayor Hanson st~ted that the City of Shoreview has sent a letter regarding <br />a Mayor's Meeting that will be held on April 23. This is just for the <br />Council's information. <br />Mrs. Nar~ini had previously reported that Lot 9, Block 2, of Gervais <br />Fleights Addition was being filled and that no permit was issued for <br />this filling. Mrs. Nardini has found that the owner of this property <br />is Dr. Don Foss. <br />Mrs. Nardini introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLU7IOP! N0. II1-4-205 - INSTRUCTING THAT A LETTER BE <br />SENT TO DR. DON FOSS ASKING HIM TO SUQMIT PLANS FOR THE <br />FILLING OF LOT 9, BLOCK 2, GERVAIS HF.IGHTS FlDDITION AND <br />FURTHER RECOMMENDING THAT UNTIL SUCH TIME AS FILL PLANS <br />ARE SUBMITTED FlND A PERMIT OBTAINED THAT THE EXISTING <br />FILL 6E REINFORCED BY MEFlNS OF Fl SNOW FENCE, OR HAY BALES, <br />OR FABRIC FENCING <br />Calling For <br />Bids For <br />P1antings <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Nardini, Scalze, Flanson, Fahey, Forsberg. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resotution Book No. 7, Page 137. <br />Mrs. Sca1ze reporte~ that the Park Commission has requested that bids <br />be called for for the plantings in Spooner Park. The Park Commission <br />has $1,000 budgeted for this activity. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 81-4-206 - CFlLLING FOR BIDS FOR THE <br />PLANTINGS PROPOSED BY THE PARK COMMISSION fOR <br />SPOONER PARK <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by P4r.
