MI~IUTES <br />CI7Y COUNCIL <br />P4ay 13, 1981 <br />The City Clerk informed the Council that utility statements are mailed <br />the 15th of each month and are due the 15th of the fo1lowing month. <br />Forsberg commented that he does not feel the City's present penaity 9s <br />excessive, <br />The City Clerk a1so informed the Council that reminders are sent to those <br />with late bi11s. <br />Mr. Holland stated that he has never seen a reminder from the City. <br />fahey commented that the City is charging a high penalty, but that 18% <br />might be attractive for some people not to pay. <br />Mr. Forsberg felt the City's penalty is doing its job, as Glasrud <br />Associates is now paying their statements on time. <br />The City Flttorney informed the Council that the City should not be <br />compounding the penalty charge. <br />The City Clerk pointed out that the City changed the penalty for Mr. <br />Vftale. Fahey suggested that Glasrud Associates be treated in the same <br />way Mr. Vitale was. <br />It was suggested that the fiiles be researched to determine the reasons <br />for the adjus~ment to Mr. Vitale. Mayor Hanson suggested that matter <br />be tabled until the City Clerk can research the files on the Vita1e <br />penalty and determine the circumstances 9n that case. <br />Flppointments Mayor Hanson reported that Mr. Fred Clausen has submitted his resignation <br />To The fi'rom the Planning Commission. Hanson quest9oned whether both vacancies <br />Planning on the Planning Commission could be filled at this time, <br />Commission <br /> The City Flttorney rep1ied that bo'th vacancies could be filled as the <br /> City has three app1icants. <br /> Mr. Flanson introduced the following reso1ution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 81-5-229 - FlCCEPTING THC RESIGNATION OF M R. <br /> FRCD CLFlUSEN FROM THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by P4r. Faheye <br />!-~yes (5) Hanson, Fahey, Forsberg, Nardini, Scalze. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 173. <br />The City Clerk reported that there are two vacancies on the Plann9ng <br />Commission. One is for a 7 month term and the other for a 19 month term. <br />The three applicants are Mr. French, P1r.
