MINUTES <br />City Council <br />May 13, 1981 <br />Counci7man Fahey stated that he was not 9n favor of paying Mrs. Costa <br />any more money for the easement and also pointed out that the City has <br />done a 7ot of extra work in the Costa yard when the ditch was constructed. <br />7he Attorney fe1t the City is required to clean the ditch, bu~ the <br />enlarging of the cu1vert wou7d be a big project. Parks felt that only <br />a 200 year rain could not be handled by this culvert. <br />Planning Mayor Hanson reported that the Plann9ng Commission would lil<e an opportunity <br />Commission to screen any app1icants to the P1ann9ng Commission. <br />Vacanc7es <br />The Plann~ng Commission has also requested that the City's ordinance be <br />amended so that if a member misses three consecutive meetings ~hat member <br />could be put on notice. <br />Water Mr. Forsberg reported that he has a report from the Utility Department <br />Loss which shows that the C{ty suffered a water loss of 3 million gallons <br />In The during the first ~uarter of 79H1 and 8.5 million ga1lons in 7980. <br />City The Utility Department feels this loss is caused from improper reg9stering <br />of water meters. <br />The Util9ty Department has requested authorization to hire a company to <br />test the City's large meters, There are 15 of these large meters that <br />need to be tested. The cost would be $28 per hour an~ it would require <br />about 2 hours per meter. <br />P9r. Forsberg introduced the following resolut~ion and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 81-5-234 - AUTHORIZING THE UTILITY DEPFlRTMENT <br />TO HAVE ITS LARGE W~TER METERS TESTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Hanson, <br />qyes (5) Forsberg, Hanson, Nardini, Sca1ze, Fahey. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Reso7ution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No, 7, Page 176, <br />Purchase P~r. Forsberg reported that the Utility Department has received quotations <br />Of Test for a test bench to test i~s small water meters. The 7ow quotation was <br />Bench from Water Products Company in the amount of $3,835. This would enable <br />the Utility Department to do its own testing of the smaller meters in <br />the City, and the cost of the bench would be recovered in a short time <br />from added water revenue. <br />Mr. Fahey stated that he would like to know ~f the City has the money to <br />purchase this bench. <br />Mr. Nanson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />R[SOLUTION N0.
