MINUTES <br />C9ty Council <br />June 10, 1981 <br />Maryann Auge, a res~dent of the area in question, stated that she is <br />against the rezoning as this ~s a small R-1 neighborhood surrounded <br />by commercial property. Mrs. Fluge does not want to see any more R-1 <br />property in the area upzoned. <br />P4rs. Joyce Sarne and Mrs. C~rol Tamaszewski also appeared before the <br />Council stating that they were opposed to the rezoning. <br />Mrs. Scalze stated that when the Counc9l was considering this property <br />for senior citizen housing, there was some neighborhood opposition to <br />a rezoning for this purpose at that time. Mrs. Scalze felt that the <br />Council should follow the City's Comprehensive P1an and not be upzoning <br />any property. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the fo1lowing resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION ~10. 81-6-275 - CLOSING THE PUBLIC FIEARING ON <br />THE RE , INC. REZ NING REQUEST <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Forsberg. <br />Flyes (5) fahey, Forsberg, Hanson, Nardini, Scalze. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 206. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resoiution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 81-6-276 - DENYING THE RF7_0~1ING REQUF.ST OF <br />REM, INC, ALSO KNOWN S GREENWOOD, FOR TNE REZONIMG OF R-1 <br />AND B-3 PROPERTY IN ThIE FFFECTED FlREA TO RB, RESIDEN7IAL <br />BUSINESS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />qyes (5) Fahey, Sca7ze, Hanson, Nardini, Forsberg. <br />Nayes (O). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears 9n Resolut~on ~ook No. 7, Page 207. <br />Mayor Hanson stated that by denying this rezoning request, the Council <br />is not discriminating against the type of people that would be haused <br />in the facility that was proposed. The request was denied due to the <br />type of area that was involved, and not the type of fac,ility that was <br />proposed for the property. <br />Conditiona1 Mayor Hanson reported that P~,A.C. Properties is requesting a conditional <br />Use Permit use permit for outdoor storage, Hanson also informed the audience that <br />McGough the City has received letters from (~yan Landscaping, Prefierred Sheetmeta7, <br />Property and Fuel Economy stating that they were in favor of the permit being <br />granted. <br />Councilman Fahey suggeste~ that hefore a permit is granted, the Council <br />shou1d get an easement through this property for road purposes, <br />Representatives of M.N.C. Properties informed the Councit that they <br />were not opposed to granting such an easement. <br />Page -3- <br />
