MINU7ES
City Council
June 10, 1981
The second var9ance that Flameburger is requesting is that they be
allowed two driveways. One onto Rice Street and the other onto Demont
Avenue. Mr. Mattson stated that the way he interprets City Code 9s
that with the front footage the F7ameburger has, they would only be
allowed one driveway.
Mrs. Nardini stated that she wanted it to go on record that Flameburger
would be required to buffer its east property line. Buffering would be
the responsibil9ty of flameburger, and not the responsibility of the
propertyowner to the east of the Flameburger property.
The Mayor suggested that the cancep~ could be approved tonight, and
approval of a bu91ding permit could be contingent upon a favorable
review of the Building Inspector. Council would also have to call for
a public hearing on the variance request.
Mr. Forsberg introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 81-6-283 - APPROVING THE COMCEPT OF THE
FLAMEBURGER RESTAURANT SUBJEC7 TO A FAVORABLE REVIEW OF
THE C2TY'S BUILDING INSPECTOR AND SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE
4JITH THE RECOMMFNDATIONS OF 7HE CITY PLANNER MFlDF IN HIS
REPORT DFlTED MAY 29, 1981 AND FURTHER CONTINGENT TNA7 ANY
FlREFl ON TNE PLAN THAT IS INbICATED AS "PROPOSED CH~NGES"
IS NOT DEVELOPED WITHOUT COUNCIL APPROVAL
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze.
/{yes (5) Forsberg, Scalze> Fahey, Nardini, Fianson.
Nayes (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 212.
Mrs. Scalze introduceci the following reso7ution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 81-6-284 - CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING
FOR JULY 8, 19II1 TO CONSIDFR TNE T~0 VARIANCE REQUESTS
NECESSARY FOR TFIE FLFlMEBURGER RESTAURANT PROPOSAL
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Flanson.
/{yes (5) Scalze> Hanson, Nardini, Forsberg, Fahey.
Nayes (O).
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolutiori appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 213.
Kath Mayor Hanson asked the City Engineer if Woodlyn Avenue was 1ocated where
Variance it is supposed to be. The Engineer informed the Council that Fuel
Econorqy built the road and ~t was to remain a private road. At some
point, the City took over Wood1yn Avenue as a City street and the road
was never surveyed.
Mr. Forsberg stated that Fuel Economy is concerned with the traffic situation
on Woodlyn Flvenue.
Page -8-
