MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
June 24, 1981
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Fianson.
Flyes (5) Forsberg, Hanson, Nardini, Scalze, Fahey.
Nayes (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Pages 2?.9 and 230.
Brady's The City Clerk reported that the Brady's matter has been settled, Mr.
Tulgren, the owner of Brady's, has met with the owner and residents
of the neighboring mobilehome court and they fee1 the problem has been
solved,
Mayor Hanson stated that he talked with the Sheriff's Department with
regard to patrolling the Brady's parking lot. They have assured the
Mayor that the lot will be patrotled. There is a problem with people
coming into the lot after Brady's has been closed and causing disturbances.
Mrs. Scalze reminded the Council that when the liquor license was
transferred to Mr. Tulgren, the C9ty made it a requirement that the
lot be patrolled from 10:30 P.M. until 1:30 A.M. or until all patrons
have left the premises. Mayor Hanson pointed out that the problem is
arising from people coming into the parking lot at 3:30 in the morning
after the estab1ishment has been c1osed for a couple of hours.
Mrs. Scalze stated that she also wanted it to go on record that she has
reviewed the number of Sheriff's calls made in the City and there were
39 calls made to Hoggsbreath, 39 calls made to Brady's and only 7 calls
made to Spooner Park,4 of which were for parking vio7ations. At the last
Council meeting it was commented that there were numerous Sheriff's
calls being made in Spooner Park, and Mrs. Scalze pointed out that this
has not been the case.
~lorth Mayor Hanson informed the Council that the residents of the North Star
Star Mobile Home Court were near victims of the recent tornado that hit the
Mobile area. Hanson stated that the Council will have a presentation tonight
Home from Dale Grimes of Dakota County regarding steps the City can take to
Court acquire a civil defense warning system in the City. hianson stated that
it is the City's responsibility to provide this system.
Hanson also stated that there is a problem at the North Star Mobile Home
Court as there is only one entrance/exit to the park. Hanson stated that
he believes the park was constructed in 1971 and at that time South
Owasso Blvd. was not in, and there were no plans for p~itting it in where
it is today.
The City Clerk stated that the original plan for the park called for
three entrances and the only one that is in is Big Circle Drive.
The City Engineer stated that the other two entrances were for future
connections. The Engineer stated that he talked to Mr. Flusnick, one
of the owners of the Park, and a second entrance/exit is planned for
the middle of the south side of the park. The Engineer also commented
that this Nias all private property.
Page -4-
