MINUTES
City Council
October 7, 1981
Charles There are deferred assessments on the Charles Weber property in the
Weber amount of $680.00 for sewer,
Assessment
Mr, Charles Weber stated that when he purchased the property all
assessments where to have been paid. The City deferred the sewer
assessments being discussed for the previous owner, and Mr. Weber
stated that he does not feel he should have to pay these assessments.
Mr. Fahey stated that when Mr. Weber purchased the property whatever
occurred between Mr. Weber and the previous owner of the property
is between them, and the City is not involved. The City has no know1edge
of the purchase agreement between these parties.
Fahey stated that whether the City would continue to defer these
assessments is a different matter.
The Engineer stated that the assessments are for a sewer line that runs
along the back of the property along the railroad tracks.
The City Clerk stated that this is a double-fronting lot in a sense.
The property is zoned general business. The Clerk asked the Council if
they foresaw any possib9lity of using the property that would warrant
connecting to the sewer line in the back. The Clerk also stated that
the property is 70 feet wide and the new ordinance requires a 100 foot
width on a business property.
The City Clerk suggested that the Engineer should review this.
Mrs. Nardini introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLU7IOM N0. 81-10-550 - TABLING ACTION ON THE
DEFERRED ASSESSMENT ON THE CFIARLES WEBER PROPERTY
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Hanson.
qyes (5) Nardini, Hanson, Scalze, Fahey, Forsberg.
Nayes (0).
Reso1ution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 363.
Frank 7he City Clerk reported that the Trobeck property is adjacent to the
Trobeck Weber property previously discussed. The Clerk stated that Mr. Trobeck
Assessment is planning to connect to the sewer line in the back of his property,
and he intends to pay his assessment.
Mr. Fahey commented that he would 7ike to know the conditions upon wh9ch
the Charles We6er assessment was originally deferred. If the Counci7
agreed that the assessment would be levied at the time the property
was sold, that might be a factor.
The City C7erk commented that it may be possible the assessment was
paid on the Weber property and it was incorrectly recorded. The C1erk
stated that he would check into this.
Page -6-
