MINUTES <br />City Counci1 <br />October 14, 1981 <br />The City Clerk stated that the Planning Commission tab7ed action on <br />Mr. Flynn's proposal until the Council adopted a plan for the area. <br />The Clerk stated that a hearing has been set for November 25, 1981. <br />Mrs. Scalze commented that the hearing can be hetd, but no action can <br />be taken. <br />P~rs. Nardini informed Mr. flynn that when the fifth Councilmember is <br />present, the Council will probably reach a decision on the plan for <br />the area. <br />Hanson informed the Clerk to put the matter on the agenaa for the 28th. <br />The City Clerk stated that the subject will go to the Park Commission <br />for review. <br />Mrs. Nardini asked the Planner for copies of the various proposals fior <br />the area. <br />Gear The City Clerk reported that a hearing has been set for November 25, <br />Conditional for consideration of the Gear conditiona1 use permit request for a <br />Use Permit second garage. <br />LaMay & The City Clerk reported that a hearing has been set for the October 2II <br />Shortridge meeting on the LeRoy LaMay and Jerry Shortridge request for a permit for <br />Duplex a duplex in an R-1 area. <br />Request <br />There was discussion about the procedures required to get a list of <br />effected property owners so that notices can be sent to those people. <br />Mr. LaMay reported that it cost $1.50 per name at the Court House and <br />an additional $1.25 per address. Mr. LaMay stated that he was able to <br />look up the adresses himself at the City Center. <br />The Attorney stated that it is likely that the City may not have up-to- <br />date records and there may be one or two out of a hundred that would be <br />incorrect. <br />Duplexes In Mayor Hanson stated that the majority of the Planning Commission was <br />R-L Areas in favor of leaving the duplex provision of 1 in 10 al1owed in an R-1 <br />area. <br />The City Clerk stated that it requires a conditional use permit for a <br />duplex in an R-1 area. <br />The Planner stated that the following requirements must be met to permit <br />the duplex: there must be adequate off-street parking, the ratio of <br />1 in 10 cannot be exceedecl, two or more duplexes cannot abutt, and the <br />City's building code must be met. <br />Page -16- <br />
