MINUTES
City Council
October 28, 1981
Mrs. Nardini introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 81-10-644 - ACCEPTING TFIE TFlX FORFIETED
PRO ERTY, KNOWN AS P RCEL N0. 53-00600-010-12, FOR THE
CITY OF LITTLE CANADA
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze.
Flyes (5) Nardini> Scalze, Hanson, Forsberg, Fahey.
Nayes (O).
Resolution declared adopted.
7his resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 418.
Flome The Mayor reported that the City has recently had a great many home
Burglaries burglaries. The Mayor stated that the Sheriff's Department has some
information available that will help in identifying suspects. Mr.
Flanson felt that this information could be provided citizens in a
mailing.
Mrs. Nardini suggested that the information could be provided in the
City's next sewer billing.
Building Mrs. Nardini reported that an ad advertising the City's bui1ding
Inspector inspector position has been put together. Nardin9 suggested that the
ad be placed in publications in addition to the Free Press.
Hanson suggested the League of Municipa1ities Magazine. Mr. Fahey
suggested that surrounding cities's building inspectors could be
contacted.
Mrs. Nardini suggested that the ad be placed in local newspapers, and
sent to other cities.
Old
Little Mrs. Nardini informed the Council that the o7d Little Canada School
Canada building is for sale.
School
Building
Moderate The Planner reported that the Metro Moderate Reh~bilitation Program
Rehab is designed to further rehabilitation of renta1 units. These funds
Program do not come from block grant funds. Metro HRA would administer the
program. The City building official would be required to make two
inspections on a rehabilitated unit an~ this would be the only cost
the City would incur. The Planner thought there would be relatively
few units in Little Canada that would be eligible for the funds.
Mrs. Nardini stated that when a building permit was taken out that
would cover the cost of the two inspections that would have to be
made on a property.
Page -21-
