MINUTES
City Council
October 28, 1981
Mrs. Nardini commented that as of yesterday the Planner still had not
seen these plans.
Mrs. Scalze commented that she was concerned with off-street parking.
Sca7ze commented that with a duplex, the more off-street parking the
better.
Mr. Fahey reminded the Council that some people on the other side of
the City were turned down when ~hey requested approval of zero lot lines.
The Planner stated that two driveways were allowed on lots of 250 feet
frontage.
F~rs. Nardini asked if this would effect c9rcular driveways. The P'lanner
stated that it would.
A resident of the area informed the Council that he was against approval
of this permit as he was opposed to more rental property in the City.
Mrs. Scalze commented that she did not think a lot of people in the City
were aware that City ordinance allows one duplex in ten single family
homes in an R-1 area.
Mrs. Scalze questioned how Mr. Shortage would have adequate off-street
parking with only a 75 foot lot. Scalze commented that some of these
questions would have been handled h1d the plans been reviewed by the
Planning Commission.
The Planner suygested that the driveway could be flared to pick up
both garages and only have one entrance/exit on the street.
Mr. Fahey stated that the permit could be approved based on that condition.
Mrs. Lancette stated that she would like her husband's name removed from
the petition stating that he had no opposition to the conditional use
permit being approved. Mr. Lancette signed the petition and did not
realize what he was signing.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 81-10-631 - CLOSING THE PUBLIC NEARING
ON THE PERRY SHORTAGE REQUEST FOR Fl CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT FOR A DUPLEX IN AN R-1 AREA
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze.
Ayes (5) Fahey, Scalze, Hanson, Forsberg, Nardini.
Nayes (0).
Resolution declared ~opted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 409.
Page -7-
