MINUTES <br />City Council <br />January 27, 1982 <br />Anderson I~Irs, Scalze commented that she was concerned that in the Pelitich <br />Development dike the City of Little Canada bore the brunt of this situation, <br />(Cont.) and before the Council grants water to Anderson, she would like to <br />know exact,l.y what is going to happen. <br />Chris Drake of the bdatershed District appeared be£ore the Council <br />and stated that Mr. Pelitich did not create a wetland by the dike he <br />built. Mr. Drake stated that he looked at this area many times and <br />he does not see the problem. Drake also commented that the City of <br />Maplewood did not have anything to do ~tith this situation. <br />Sca:Lze stated that Pelitich brought in thousands and thousands of <br />cubic yards of fi.ll without a permit. Mr. Drake commented that <br />Pelitich did comp:Lete a portion oP the dike before he got ~ permit~ <br />but the Watershed District £elt that the benefits offset what he was <br />doing, Mr. llrake did state that the dike should probably ha.ve been <br />a little to the north, <br />Fahey stated that he was not in £avor of approving water for the <br />Anderson development until the City Engineer approved the grading <br />and drainage and Mr. Anderson satisfactorily negotiated with the <br />Little Canada property owners regarding the road situation. <br />Mrs. 5calze stated that she objected to Mr. Anderaon calling his <br />street }3eam Avenue as he does not line up with Beam Avenue, Scalze <br />suggested that the street should be ca:Lled something else. <br />Mrs. Nardini corrunented that the drainage situation is severe, <br />A member o£ the sudience asked if Mr, Anderson would be getting <br />sewer from Map].ewood or Little Canada. Mayor Hanson replied that <br />sewer would come from Maplewood and that City wou].d probably hold <br />a hearing on this and the resa.dent would get notice of the hearing, <br />Another member of the audience stated that she was not in £avor of <br />more traffic being generated onto LaF3ore Road. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />Rk:SOLUTION N0. 82-1-46 - INFOHMING THE CITY OF MAPLEWOOll <br />THAT '1'HE CI'i'Y OF LITTLE CANADA TS WILLING TO APPROVE <br />WATER TO THE ANDERSON DEVELOPNIENT PROVIDED ALL DRAINAGE <br />ISSUES ARE SATISFACTOHIliY REUIE`~TED BY THE LITTLE C,ANADA <br />ENGSNEER AND THAT MR. ANDI:R50N ANll MR. BRINK ARE ABLE TO <br />SATISFACTORILY RESOLVE THE ISSUE OF A NOAD OR EASEMENT SO <br />`t'HA'P MR, BRINK AND TAE YROYERTY OWNERS ON LABOftE ARE NOT <br />LANDLUCKED BY TAIS DEVELOYMENT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Nirs.
