Hanson replied that he contacted the Sheri£f~s Department and was informed that they did not feel this was a problem in the City. Nirs, Nardini commented that this is covered in the City~& ordinances and the Sheriff~s llepartment shoul.d be tagging these cars. ivir. Hansoxi stated that he would speak to the Sheriff~s Department again about this matter. Hiring An ~rs. 5calze inf'ormed the Council that the Park Commission is Appraiser reconur,endirag cash to be collected for park charges in lieu of land. For City Therefore~ it would seem that an appraiser should be appointed for Use usz in determining park charges to be collected from commercial developments. Mrs. Scalze reported thab Mr. Helland ls willing to fill this position and is qualified. Yark charges £or a corrunercia7. development are 10% of the fair marxet vsiue of the property. ~rs. Scalze commented that the City should appoint one person £or this purpose and use that person all the time, 'Phe City Clerk reported that 1Jir, Helland would charge the City ~l~0 per hour for his services. Tennis Court Pfirs. Scalze commented that the Yark Commission is recommending that At Ol.d Little the City pursue the same agreement with the Little Canada llay Care Canada Center £or the use of the tennis court. Mrs, Scalze reported that School they are not pursuing the rezoning of the property. Mrs, 3calze informed the Council that the tennis court cost the City about a total of ~250 in lawn maintenance costs. Mrs, Scalze stated that she would like to meet with the property owner on this subject. Other councilrnembers were agreeable to this. NIr. Forsberg stated that he would like to see more use of the tennis court. Mrs, Scalze suggested that iY the City obtains the use of the court that this be advertised so that more people are aware that it is available. Mrs. Nardini asised if the chil.dren at the day care center presented a problem to people who wanted to use the court. Nlrs. Scalze replied that she was informed that the children would be kept of'f the court when it was in use> Appraiser ~, t~'~ey stated that after reviewing NIr. Helland~s qua:l.ifications which are outlined in a letter submitted to the City~ he appeared to be very we11 quali£ied for the position.
