MzNUTrs <br />City Council <br />August Ll, 1982 <br />I3 & S Road <br />Proposal <br />(Cont.) <br />The ~ngineer commented that Mr. Forsberg's idea is not a bad one. <br />Mr. Dohr aslced how wide the street ~oould be. Mr. Pahey replied thaC <br />60 £eet is required in an industrial area. The Engineer stated that <br />the pavement would be 30 f.eet wide. <br />Mr. Pahey stat:ed that if the property owners do not want ity the <br />City is back to square one. Fahey also pointed out that the <br />property owners have access from Woocilyn Avenue and could say that <br />the road does not Uenefit them. Pahey also did not feel that NSP <br />would be willi.ng to pay for a road they do not need. <br />Mrs. Nardini asked if. the City has the right Co put a road in i£ <br />[he proper.ty owners do not want it, Mr. Pahey repli.ed that the <br />Ci.ty has Che right, but the property owners could fighC their <br />assessment. Fahey suggested that the property owners petition for <br />the road and if. they want it the City could put i.C in and assess <br />the cost. Fahey suggested that perhaps the City should stucty thi.s <br />as he was not willing to spend taxpayers dollars to aid one developer, <br />Mr. rorsberp., pointed out that the whole area is bad. <br />Mr. Fahey intr.oduced the following resolution and moved i.ts adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 82-8-401 - RliQUP.STING THE <br />ENGINEER PREPART A PEASII3ILITY REPOR'L ON <br />TIIP POSSIIIILITY OF~ AN L'AST-WEST ROAD PROM <br />RICE STREET SOUTII OP TH~ R& S DPVELOPMENT <br />AND THP OTiIER BUILDINGS ]30RDERING ON WOODLYN <br />AVGNUE <br />The forep,oing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Ilanson. <br />Ayes (4) Tahey, Hanson, Nardini, Forsberg. <br />Nayes (0). <br />ResoLution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Boolc No. 8, Page 349. <br />Mr. Dohr requested that in the event the feasibitity s[ucty does not <br />go through that he be allowed to proceed with presenting his plan <br />to the ~dater Department. Mr. Uohr requested that the Council authorize <br />him to approach the Water Department wi.th his proposal. <br />Mrs. Nardini introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />R~SOLiJTION N0. £32-8-40?_ - INSTRUCTING 'PIIT' CITY <br />CLERK TO PREPARE A LETTER POR MR.
