MINUTES <br />City Council <br />August 25, 19tl2 <br />The Council discussed deleting the reviewal of the variances by <br />the Planning Commission. Some of the members of the Council <br />were not in favor of this deletion and agreed that the the <br />Planning Commission should look at the variances. <br />Mrs. Nardini introducea the Yollowing resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 82-8-429 - DELETING THE RF- <br />QUIREMENT OF AN ABSTRACT OF OWNERSHIP REPORT <br />FOR MAILING OF HEARING NOTICES FROM ORDINANCES <br />NOS. 192, 193, 194, 195, 196 & 197. <br />The foregoinq resolution was duly seconded by Mr.Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Nardini, Fahey, Scalze, Hanson, Forsberq. <br />Nayes (0) <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 8, Page 377. <br />Mr. Sweeney clarified Sections (h) and (m) of Ordinance No. 192. <br />Waite Land Fil1 Mr. Rocke Waite appeared before the Council applying for a land <br />Item No. 16 fill permit to make a buildable lot filling in above street grade. <br />Mrs. Nardini introduced the followinq resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 82-8-430 - APPROVING THE LAND <br />FILL PERMIT FOR ROCKNE R. WAITE PERTAINING TO <br />~~~ LOTS 30 TO 48~ BLOCK 12~ NORTH HEIGHTS ADDITZON, <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Nardini, Scalze, Hanson, Fahey, Forsberg. <br />Nayes (0) <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 8, Page 378. <br />Ramsey Co. Mr. John Kennedy spoke to the Council regarding the Ramsey County <br />Llnergency E7nerqency Preparedness Program. He explained that this is primarily <br />Preparedness a paper program which triggers Federal funding. There are seven <br />Item No. 17 Federal agencies fun~ng through this program. <br />Mr. Forsberg stated that he is not in favor of spending federal <br />money. <br />Mr. Jim Mishad, Civil Defense Director, City of Shoreview appeared <br />betore the Council explaininq his duties. He has completed a de- <br />fense book covering what is expected in all emergencies. He spoke <br />of a need for co-ordination between cities in the event of an <br />emergency. <br />The Council di~scussed the desirability oY this type of program. <br />Page -6- <br />
