Mrs. Nardini. commented that the bottom on <br />Lake Phalen was cracl<ed and the City does not cvant [h:is to happen on <br />Lake Gervai.s. <br />Mr. xingrose commented r.hat once the line is in place, other than a <br />f:ew manholes, the City will noC trnow that it i.s there. Ringrose <br />stated that it is not the type of. fac:ility thaC there is a Lot of <br />maintenance on. <br />Mr. Forsberg asked how often there would be a manhole. Mr. R:ingrose <br />rep].ied that Cliere would be one every 300 to 400 feet. Ri.ngrose also <br />stated that maintenance on the piPe would be done f:rom the inside. <br />Also the manholes caould be di.ctated by the need to provide connection <br />poi.nts to the City system. <br />A member of the audi.ence asked if any homes cvould be condemned. Mr. <br />Ringrose stated that this would only be done as a last resort. The <br />MWCC wi.1.1. try to nep,otiate reasonably. <br />A member of: the aucii.ence asked what size worlc area would be needed for. <br />the pi.pe. i4r. Ri.ngrose stated that for trench 30 to 40 feet deep a <br />work area of. about 120 feet would be needed. <br />Someone askect about the situation where the lake wot.ild be located on <br />one si.de and a house on the other. Mr. Ringrose star.ed that the <br />depth near the lake would be very shallow and the pipe could be <br />insta11ec1 through badc-casting. <br />Mrs. Scalze commented that the MWCC would not ].ilce a 11ome or a gara~e <br />Uu:ilt over Che secver. Scal.ze pointecl out that lot lines can always <br />be moved. Scalze stated that there are a lot of open spaces that would <br />be ef.fected. <br />Mr. Ringrose commented that the line wouLd be runni.ng through a lot <br />of swampy areas. The Planner stated that the annle thzt Che li.ne <br />woul.d cross the Schletty property ~aould not present a problem. <br />A member of the audi.ence pointed out that the ar.ea where the line <br />would cross the cemetary property would ].eavc a large area of. land <br />of no use to the cemetary. Mr. Ri.ngrose replied that the cemetary <br />would have to be paid for this property. <br />'Che Ci.ty F.ngi.neer stated that the reason the Schletty property has <br />so many sewer lines and the pumping station located on it i.s because <br />it zs the locoesC property in the City.
