MINU'ISS <br />City Council <br />Dlov. 24, 19F32. <br />I.,alce Gervais 'Che Eng~ineer repor.ted that i.n 1965 when Che City began thcir sewer <br />Inter.cepCOr project the City was goi.n~; to put i.n a 36 i.nch 1i.ne, but then Vadnai.s <br />(Cont.) liei_ghCS wanted Co get :involved and the City got Federat money so a <br />4f3 inch line was installed. White Bear Townsh:ip also wanted to <br />be i.nvolved i.n the project. <br />Mr. Carley reported that i.n ].971. the sewer system was completed and <br />the Metro Counci.l took over anct bought the system. 'L'hen the P7WCC <br />decided to hoolc up Flugo and Porest Lake to the system rather than <br />a1.1ow t.hem to bui.ld sewage treatment plants. <br />Mr. ~red Schletty expressed concern rhat the 60 inch line woulct <br />become too small i.n tlie near future. <br />P1r. Mr. Ri.ngrose repl:ied that <br />the sCati.on wi.11 serve a smal7. area and he could assure the Council <br />thaC there wi11 be suf:ficient sCOrap,e capaciCy to talce c~re of any <br />breakdowns. <br />Mr. r~r.sberg commented thaT, if the new ~i.nterceptor line followed <br />Ili.ghway 61 thi.s too would el.imi.nate the high usa~;e of. the pumping <br />station. Porsber~; stated that he would lilce the l.ine go somewhere <br />e].se than I,ittle Ganada. <br />Mr., Ringrose repl.i.ed that unless facili_ties are rebui.lt i.n the <br />norther.n suburbs it cannot be done. <br />Mr. }Ianson suggeste<1 that the P9WCC come baclc to the Counci.l wi.th some <br />alternati.ves. <br />Mr. Ri.n~;rose st.igp;ested that they fi_rst meet wihh the staff and then <br />see how thin~;s fall into p].ace. Rinp,r.ose stated that he would like <br />to come bacl< as soon as possible. <br />ifr. Pahey su~gested that a speci.al Counci.l meet:inn be call.ed. Ilowever, Paltey stated r.hac he would <br />lilce to see if. there are any alternati.ves that ~aould impacC the City <br />i.n the least possible way.
