Mr. Ringrose also stated
that if problems develop at this station, there is no place Lor
se~aage to ~o and there is no way to turn off the sewage flo~o.
Therefore, t:here i.s a potenti.al for polution into the lalces.
The MWCC now feeLs it is cl.ose to the time to malce some lcind of
improvement and enlar;e the capabi.lity for present and future needs
and also eLim~i.nate this pumping station.
Mr. Ringrose reported that studi.es have determined that it ~i.s possible
to construct a p,ravity sewer line and e1.i.mi_nate the pumping staCion.
There wi11 be a pumpi.ng station rema:i.ning at the l.ocation, but the
present station wi11 ei.ther be modif:ied or a new smaller station
bui.lt. This sCati.on w:i11 serve Little Canada and a small area of
Maplewood and not the large area the staCi.on noca serves.
Mr. P.ingrose r.eported that presently the preliminary engineering For.
the project i.s bein~; done.
