Pahey su~;gested that the Attorney checlc i.nto this and if. Mr.s. <br />Nar.di_ni.'s comments are correct, the ordinance should be changed to <br />16. <br />Mr. Str:imling aslced why a~ame room should have to police this, when <br />other busi.nesses i.n the Ci.ty are not rcquirc:d Co, Mrs. Scatze <br />replied that a game room can tend to become a gatheri.ng place. <br />Mr. Fahey also pointed out tha~ this provision i.n the ordinance <br />wi11 give the C:i.ty more enf:orcement power. <br />The C:i.ty Attor.ney anreed that the age should be changed to 16. <br />Mrs. Nardin:i asked iE the Ci.ty was Yoi.ng to have all licenses expi.re <br />at the same ti.me. The Ci.ty Clerk replied that he woiil.d be cominp, i.n <br />wi_th somethi_ng l.ater i.n the year on thi.s. <br />T4r. P'ahey pointed out that the Saxon wil.l have to get an amusement <br />center li.cense under this ordi.nance. <br />Mrs, Scalze asked if the Council shoulcl be putting conditions in the <br />ordinance where the City had the power. to say that a~;ame room was <br />detrimental to a resi.dental area and for that reason deny a li.cense. <br />Scalze felt that the Ci.ty should Leave i.tself an out Lor denyin~ a <br />1~icense. <br />Mr. Chlebeck pointed out the shoppi.ng center at Little Canada Road <br />and Lakeshore Drive and i.ts location in relati.on to a residential <br />neighborhood. The cleric commented that the parki.n~; coul.d become <br />very conp,ested at this center. <br />Mrs. Scalze commented thaC there may be some reason that the r.esidents <br />of this ar.ea would not want a game room at Lhi.s shoppi.ng center. <br />Mr. I'ahey stated that he felt this was covered under paragraph A <br />of the ordinance.. Pahey stated that the C:ity does not: have to issue <br />a license if it Eee1s the game room would become a pubLic nuisance. <br />The Attorney felt that the ordi.nance was as ti.ght as the Ci.ty could <br />get in this regard. <br />Mrs. Scalze commented Chat she dict not want to see the City Pet i.nto <br />a situation where it wished that it had put somethin~ of thi.s Cype <br />into the ord:i.nance.
