The }3uilding Inspector repliedthat ther.e was. <br />Mr< Loclce stated Chat the City presentLy has such a system i.n <br />Ryan's Industrial Park on one of. the buildings. <br />Mrs. Nardini aslced what type of. system is used for a~dausau home. <br />Mr. I,ocl<e replied that Che 7dausau home was noC designed f.or a tie <br />down system. Mr. Loclce replied that there was li.ttle d:ifference <br />between a double-wide manuf:actured home and a Wausau home. <br />Mrs. Scalze astced about the "R" rati.ngs in a manutactured home. <br />Mr. Locke repli.ed that the "R" ratings will meet or exceed the <br />Ci.ty Code r.equirements< Mr. Locke also commenCed that a manuLactured <br />home probably is better inspected Chan a stick-bui.lt home. <br />Mrs.Scalze stated that she felt that the Mz;~lewood ordinance <br />covers everything the Ci.ty eaould need, however, the HtJD certificaCion <br />shouLd be added. Mr. Pahey stated that he would l.ilce. to see a <br />f.oundation requi.rement in the ordi.nance. <br />Mr. Locke aslced iE this ordinance would apply to the City's trailer <br />parks. Mrs. Scalze srated that it would apply to the Ci.ty's R-1, <br />R-2, and R-3 a.oning d:istricts. The moUil.ehome parks should be <br />excluded. <br />Mr. B'ahey pointecl out that the Maple~aood ordi.nance has a 21 f.oot wi.dth <br />requi.rement. P1rs. Scalze commented that she ioould lilce the Maplew~od <br />orrlinance adopted, with the t-IUD requirement, but i.s still noC cerL-ain <br />on what width requirement should be made. <br />Mr. Pahey stated that anyone meeting the 1~IllD r.equirements would exceed <br />bui.lding code. Anythi.ng l.ess than State code coul.<1 not be in the Cit:y. <br />Mrs. Scalze stated that with a sticlc-bui1C home, it must conform Co <br />the present Code and the city is not allowing sticlc-Uuilt homes to <br />be buil.t under the 1940 Code. Therefore, Scalze did not £ee1 that a <br />manufactured home should be broup,ht in that ~aas Coo o1d. <br />Mrs. Nardini staCed that an o1<t manufactured home would not be wide <br />enou~;h< <br />Mr. L'ahey stated that the City could require the HUD cerCi.fication <br />anci that he would not have a problem with this. <br />Mr. I.ocke stated that Joan Archer of the Minnesota Manufactured klomes <br />As,ociaCion does not oppose these requirements. <br />Mr. I.,oclce aslced what the City wanCed to do about a mobilehome used <br />for an office set-u~.
