When comparing Little Canada winter water bill ($67.20, 2024 rate) with the second lowest city quarterly
water bill ($85.92, 2024 rate), Little Canada charges 27.86% less. Further, when comparing with the
highest city quarterly water bill (Rossville $89.14), Little Canada charges 32.65% less for its water.

The average water winter bill for all six cities is $88.10, Little Canada charges 31.10% less for its winter
water when compared to the average bill. Similar percentages are noted when analyzing the summer
water bill.

CONCLUSION:
Higher water rates are projected mainly due to larger wholesale water rate increases by SPRWS, due to
the construction of the McCarrons Treatment Plant as well as increases related to operating cost (e.g.
personnel cost, insurance cost) and capital expenditures. A detailed presentation of the Utility funds was
done by city staff at the August 24th council workshop. The above rates would need to be evaluated on a
yearly basis to most current projections for operating expenditures and capital infrastructure needs.

SEWER RATES PROJECTIONS:
Due to the 2024 to 2025 Municipal Wastewater Charge increasing by 8.40%, the following rate increases
are projected to operate the sewer fund:
