<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />When comparing Little Canada winter water bill ($67.20, 2024 rate) with the second lowest city quarterly <br />water bill ($85.92, 2024 rate), Little Canada charges 27.86% less. Further, when comparing with the <br />highest city quarterly water bill (Rossville $89.14), Little Canada charges 32.65% less for its water. <br /> <br />The average water winter bill for all six cities is $88.10, Little Canada charges 31.10% less for its winter <br />water when compared to the average bill. Similar percentages are noted when analyzing the summer <br />water bill. <br /> <br />CONCLUSION: <br />Higher water rates are projected mainly due to larger wholesale water rate increases by SPRWS, due to <br />the construction of the McCarrons Treatment Plant as well as increases related to operating cost (e.g. <br />personnel cost, insurance cost) and capital expenditures. A detailed presentation of the Utility funds was <br />done by city staff at the August 24th council workshop. The above rates would need to be evaluated on a <br />yearly basis to most current projections for operating expenditures and capital infrastructure needs. <br /> <br />SEWER RATES PROJECTIONS: <br />Due to the 2024 to 2025 Municipal Wastewater Charge increasing by 8.40%, the following rate increases <br />are projected to operate the sewer fund: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
