Rosevill.e and Littl.e Canacia shoul.d participate i.n the cost. <br />(ConC.) <br />The State has also i.ndi.cated [hat they do not have the necessary <br />manpower to put: the plans together f.or the signal.. Ilowever, they <br />coi.ll accept the plans of an outsi.de engineer. The cost £or <br />this will be an additional $3,000 aPProximately. <br />A1r. Newman stated that [:he mer.chants f.eel that the interest: of: <br />Li.ttle Canada in this si:;nal is greater than that of. Roseville. <br />The merchants are sug~est:i.ng that Li.tt].e Canada parti.cipate to <br />the tune of R10,00p, Itosevi.ll.e 'S~F,000 to $5,000, and the merchants <br />coill picl< u~ the balance of khe cost. <br />Mr. Newman stated that Little Canada has an i.nterest i.n this <br />si.gnal i.n the i.nterest of publ.ic safety. <br />Mr.s. Nardin:i. pointed out that the Littl.e Canada's participati.on i.n <br />the permanent si.gnal has been f:igured at 7_5`/„ Roseville's at ZS%, <br />and thc~~ Fti.~;hway pepartment at 50%. <br />Mr. Newman staGed that he is convinced that the State wi.11 not <br />provi.cle anythi.ng more than he has outl:i.ned. <br />Mr. Han>on commented that the Council is not all that interested i.n <br />putting :i.n a temporary signal, but how cloes one put a doll.ar value <br />on a life. llanson pointed out that there ar.e temporary signals that <br />have been around for 20 years. The State turned this down and sai.d they <br />coulcl not compl.y with the :installati.on pri.or to 1984 because of <br />manpower. projections. <br />Mr. Newman staCed that if the temporar.y signal ie approved by I,i.ttle <br />Canada and Roseville i.t can be i_nstall.ed within 60 days from the time <br />oE approvat. <br />Mrs. Scalze indicated that a couple of: weetcs ago the Council i.ndi.cated <br />that: it would not parY.ici.pate i.n the cost of a temporary s:ignal. <br />Mr.s.
