Mr.. Li.cht stated thac <br />at this point the Counci.l's hands were tied. If the body shop had <br />been in existance before 19h2, i.t could have been continued. However, <br />the ordinance does not al.low this type of use i.n a resi<lential area. <br />IL the Cotmci.l had permitted Mr. I.ane to conti_nue, a precedent would <br />have been se[ and the Council would have had to a17.ow everyone the <br />same r.i.ght.
