MSNU'CPS <br />City Counci.l <br />Dec. 1?, 1984 <br />Tom's Auto Mr. Speckmann reported that 14r. Tubbesing has been notified that k~e <br />Sa].es (Cont.) must provide a handi.capped parking space. Tubbesi.ng will do this. <br />Also tliere is a drainage problem on tlte property i.n the southwest <br />corner of. the lot. This area wil.l. be blacktopped so that the water <br />can be direc.ted around the back of. the buildi.ng. <br />Mr.. Speclcmann r~eported that four parlci.n~; spaces are requi.red at the <br />si.te, three for employee parlcing and L for handi.capped. Speckmann <br />reported that they a:e just presenT.in~; the lay-out of. the parking. <br />Mrs. Scalze commenCed that the bottom line is whether or not Mr. <br />Tubbesing is planning to operate a used car lot or just sell <br />dama~ed vehicles. Scalze stated chat she underscood when the <br />matter f.isst came be.f.ore the Council. that= Mr. Tubbesing would just <br />be whoLesal.ing damaged vehicles and not retai.ling used carse <br />Mr. Spedcmann reported that in hi.s presentation he pointed out <br />Chat from time to ti.me Mr.. Tubbesing woi~ld be selling retail cars <br />out of, the property, but not to the extent of the used car operation <br />at Rice and County Road C. <br />Mr.s. Scalze poi.nted out that there are cars on the lot wiCh pri.ces <br />painted on them. Scal.ze stated it was her impression ehat this would <br />not be a used car lot. Scalze asked iL the reason that this plan has <br />developed with the addi.ti.onal parking is that Mr. Tubbesing is <br />antici.pating a used car lot. Scalze stated that she was not interested <br />i.n used car lots creepi.ng c(own County Road C towards the residentl.al <br />area. <br />Mr. Speclcmann stated that Mr. Tubbesi.ng does have occasi.on to sell. <br />used cars, but does not antici.pate or intend to put a dozen cars on <br />the 1ot. <br />?4r. Pahey pointed out ttiat the City approved an auto sales license <br />on September 17_, 198~~ subject to the Planner's report and thaC no <br />more than three cars Ue parked outside and then Chey would have to <br />be wiChin the fenced-in areae <br />Mrs. Nardi.ni poi.nted out that at the September meeting the fact that <br />Mr. Tubbesi.ng has occasi.on to sell repossessed cars was never brought up. <br />Mr. Porsberg stated that a used car lot is a permitCed use i.n thi.s area. <br />Mrs. Scalze agreed, Uut pointed out that this is not what Che City <br />approved. <br />Mrs. Nardi.ni. was concerned that the site plan total.l.y e7.i.mi.natect the <br />green area on the sides of the bui_ldi.ng. Mr. Speckmann disagreed, <br />Mrs. Nardini asked the dimensions of. the buildi.ng. Mr. Tubbesing re~lied <br />that they were 45 feet by 60 feet. <br />Pa~;e -2- <br />
