MINUTfiS City Council March 7_7~ 1985 Computer. The Auditor is recommending that the ci.ty go wiCh the lease/purchase (Cont.) of. equipment as it is his experience that it is better to have an unpai.d balance as leverap,e with a computer vendor. Mrs. Podomi.nictc indi.cated that the bulk of the price di.fference bet~veen the tcvo options is in the hardware. Podomi.nick reported that there is about a$1,000 di.f£erence in che software be[~oeen lease/purchase and outr.ight purchase. The City Cl.erlc recommended that the Cotmcil act on the computer system at the next meeti.ng. In the meanti.me, he would investigate the financial aspects of the purchase. Mr. ISlesener aslced if. when sof:tware is updated, i.f the City ~aould automati.cally get the updates. Mrs. Pociomini.ck replied thaC in some cases the Ci.Cy will and i.n others it saill not. Mr.. rahey asked if Mrs. Podomi.niclt will.coorlc with the City i.n ~;etting bids and getti.ng equipment i.nstaLled. Mrs. Podomini.clc stated that Context Systems cvi.ll. assi.st the City throup,h the signing of the contracts. 1{owever, they would be ~oilling to worlc wi.th the City in a Project Manage- ment roll. Mr. Pahey requested that Ntrs. Vodomini.ck give the City a proposal Lor these services. Podomi.nick stated that she will also obtain copies oE purchase agreements and 1.ease a~reements f.or the Council's review. Mr. Pahey indicated that the Council should study [he two reports and be prepared to malce a cleci.si.on at the next Counci.l. meeti.ng. Steneroden Mr. Fahey pointed out that the Plannino Commission Cabled action on Property the Stenerocten property rezoni.ng until i.t had additional. information. Rezoning i'ahey commented that under the ordinance, the Planning Commission has 60 days in which L-o act on a pr.oposal, before the Council takes acti.on. Agenda Item No. 5 Mr. Pahey suggested that due to the Cabling of this matter by the Planning Commission, he is suggesting that the matter be poscponed f.or one month to let the Planni.ng Commi.ssi.on m ake a recommendati.on. Mrs. Scalze stated that she Eelt that the r.esi.dents shoul.d be aware when a matter is consi.dered by the Planning Commi.ssion so that they have an opportunity to attend the Planni.ng Commissi.on meeting and voice their feelings. Mrs. Nard~ini. stated thal' she felt Chat iE T.he Planni.n~; Commission tables an i.tem, the residents should be informed that they do not have to atCend the Council meeting as the matter will be tabled to all.ow the Planning Commi.ssi.on time to act.
