MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 18, 2024 <br />2025 PLANNING COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS AND SELECTION OF THE PLANNING <br />COMMISSION CHAIR FOR 2025 <br />The Community Relations Manager reviewed the expiring terms of the members of the Commission <br />noting that Commissioners Kulousek and Masrud reapplied to serve another term, and three new <br />applications were received. She stated that interviews were completed of the new and reapplying <br />applicants, and it is recommended that Commissioners Kulousek and Masrud be reappointed. <br />Kwapick stated that the interview panel was impressed with all five candidates, and it was difficult to <br />only choose two. He commented on the value that Commissioners Kulousek and Masrud have brought <br />to the Commission and the panel believed that those members should continue to serve, while keeping <br />the three additional applicants on file should a position open. Mayor Fischer echoed the comments of <br />Kwapick and hoped that they could find a way to get the other three applicants involved in something. <br />Mayor Fischer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2024-12-154 — REAPPOINTING DA WN KULO USEK AND LEIF <br />MASR UD TO THREE-YEAR TERMS AND APPOINTING _ AS PLANNING <br />COMMISSION CHAIR FOR 2025 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Kwapick. <br />Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mayor Fischer requested that the Council consider appointing Taelor Johnson to another term as Chair <br />of the Planning Commission. <br />Mayor Fischer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2024-12-155 — APPOINTING TAELOR JOHNSON AS PLANNING <br />COMMISSION CHAIR FOR 2025 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Gutierrez. <br />Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />2025 PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSIONER APPOINTMENTS AND SELECTION <br />OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION CHAIR FOR 2025 <br />The Community Relations Manager explained that the term of Commissioner Mui is expiring, and he <br />did reapply. She noted that Commissioner Schletty has reached his three -term limit and thanked him <br />for his nine years of service on the Commission. She stated that one new application was received, and <br />that applicant was interviewed. She stated that it is recommended to reappoint Commissioner Mui and <br />appoint Taylor Tuomie to the remaining seat on the Commission. <br />D. Miller thanked Commissioner Schletty for his years of service, noting he served with him on that <br />commission for seven years. He stated the new applicant has great energy and will be a great addition. <br />D. Miller introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />lul <br />
