MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 18, 2024 <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2024-12-156 — APPOINTING MIKE MUI AND TA YLOR TUOMIE TO <br />THREE-YEAR TERMS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mayor Fischer. <br />Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mayor Fischer stated that Ron Horwath has done an incredible job as Chair of the Commission and he <br />will be terming out after this year, and recommends that he continue to serve as Chair for this last year. <br />Mayor Fischer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2 024-12-15 7 —APPOINTING R ON HOR WA TH AS PARK AND <br />RECREATION CHAIR FOR 2025 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by D. Miller. <br />Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR A SIDEWALK ON SOUTH SIDE OF COUNTY ROAD C <br />The Public Works Director provided background information on the Ramsey County project for <br />County Road C which would include refurbishment of the trail on the north side. He stated that there <br />is thought that this could be an opportunity to add a sidewalk on the south side was well to better <br />accommodate the pedestrian traffic.. He noted that this would be a natural connection and expansion of <br />the City's sidewalk system. He stated that initial public input has been in support of the sidewalk <br />proposal. He stated that the Park and Recreation Commission recommended support of this action at <br />its December meeting. <br />Gutierrez stated that she supports sidewalks where they can be added but was concerned that Rice <br />Street continues to lack that element. Kwapick agreed and noted that this will connect to the new <br />sidewalk on Rice Street that will be added. <br />Mayor Fischer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2024-12-158 — SUPPORTING THE ADDITION OF SIDEWALK ON <br />THE SOUTH SIDE OF COUNTY ROAD C <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by D. Resolution declared adopted. <br />PROPOSAL FOR KEYLESS ENTRY AT CITY FACILITIES <br />The Parks and Recreation Director explained tonight the Council is asked to consider a proposal for <br />keyless entry at City facilities. He provided background information noting that hard keys are <br />currently used and highlighted the benefits that would be provided through keyless entry. He stated <br />that it is also recommended to replace all of the readers at the public works facility as those have <br />11 <br />
