Scalze pointed out that other ciCies have <br />& Industrial policies and felt that the Council shoul.d review these and try to imple- <br />Revenue I~onds ment something. Scalze pointed out that the Ci.ty now has a Limited <br />amount of industrial revenue bonds available. <br />A~;enda <br />Item No. 6 Fahey stated that past policy has Ueen to grant t.he bonds Lo anyone who <br />comes in and requests them. The City has not tried Co legislate the use <br />of the boncis. <br />Scalz.e pointed out that the Council promised the City's allotment of: the <br />bonds to Larry Lee and is now giving some of the allotment to LittLe <br />Canada Mini-Storage because of an agreement they worked out between <br />themselves. <br />Mr. Sten~er., representing Little Canad•a Mini-Storage, reported that they <br />made applicaCion for the bonds before Mr.. Lee did. <br />Scalze pointed out that the City does not have to approve bonds, just <br />Uecause someone has applied for them. Mr> Fahe.y stated that he was <br />reluctant to hold Mr. Stenger up. Pahey stated that the project is <br />within the zoning of the property in question. <br />Mr. Collova felt that if the City were goinp, to set policy on issuance <br />of. these bonds, it should not be done now. Collova stated that Mr. <br />Stenger has Cime and money invested in the project. <br />Mr.s. Scalze stated that Mr. Stenger proceeded with his plans at his own <br />risk. <br />Mrs. Nardini stated that she felt Mrs. Scalze was concerned that a mini- <br />storage i.s not where the City should be investing i.ts limited funds. <br />Scalze pointed out that the City has other areas of the City coming up <br />Lor development that might provide more jobs for the City. <br />Nardini stated that she felt that the purpose of the program was to <br />create new jobs and a mini-storage would not do this. <br />Page -6- <br />
