The I3u:i.lding Inspector <br />explainec! that if someone i.s cutti.ng down a hill, under i.tem f3, the <br />banlc that caould be left could not be more than 5 feet in height. <br />Mr. 1?ahey sited the example of someone excavating a large area tind <br />per.haps removin~ all the topsoil i_n an 1rea. Pahey su~;gested that <br />this item inclucte l.anguage which would reqiiire a de.termi.nation Uy <br />the I3uilding Inspector. <br />yrs. Nardini. sugf;esCed that all the items under I501..010 shouLcl requi.re <br />reviesa by the F3uildi.ng Inspector. <br />Fahey felt: that the permit Lee should not be excessi.ve, but commented <br />thaC ~oithout a permit, Che Cit:y loses conCrol. <br />After. di.scussion on how to retain control for the CiCy, :it was determined <br />that items l, 8, 9 and 11 wouLd be handled in a separ.aCe secti.on. The Council did this because there were numerous illegal fill.i.ng <br />o~erations in the Ci.ty. <br />Mr. Pahey stated he did not wanC to require engi.neering stuciies and <br />topos cohere they are not necessary, <br />Mrs. Scalze poi.nted out thaC under item 9, someone could f.'i11 3 Leet <br />over 10 acres oL property. <br />Mr. Collova stated that the Buil.ding InspecCOr could determi.ne i.£ <br />draina~e is goin~ to be ef£ected. <br />The Cit:y Clerl< pointed out Chat: the Ci.ty had a situati.ori Lohere someone <br />fi.lled t:heir property to street level and created a hole ~i.n the adjacent <br />property. <br />The fSui.ld~ing I.nspector commented that the Counci.l will have to puC <br />faiCh in i.ts statf.
