MINUTES <br />City Council <br />May 13, 1986 <br />A member of the audience asked how long these drainage problems have . <br />been in existence. <br />The Engineer repolied that in some instances they have been in <br />existence for 20 years and others have been accumulating because <br />of development in the City. <br />Fahey pointed out that the City is addressing areas that the City <br />has received complaints about. One area is Centerville Road and <br />the culvert in this area. <br />Mr. Montgomery stated that the problem is that the ditches have not <br />been cleaned out. <br />Fahey felt that there were other problems than this and pointed out <br />that the City is not proposing to storm sewer all the ditches in the <br />City. <br />Frank Frattalone asked about the industrial park area along Centerville <br />Road. The Engineer replied that when this area develops, the City <br />will require ponding. <br />The next priority 1 projects outlined by the Engineer were Savage Lane <br />from Demont to the North End, Spruce Street from County Road C to the <br />South, and Lake Street from Jackson to Lake Shore. <br />The next project outlined by the Engineer, Thunder Bay Area, Ditch 76 <br />B-1, is a priority 2 project. <br />Mr. Fahey pointed out that the County has not cleaned the ditches. <br />Chris Drake reported that the Watershed now has jurisdiction over the <br />ditches. The Watershed recently did a survey of the ditches in Little <br />Canada. <br />The Engineer reported that he used this data in preparing his report <br />tonight. The Engineer stated that he has tried to address the areas <br />of concern that he anticipates the Watershed will turn over to the <br />City. <br />The next projects outlined by the Engineer are priority 2 projects <br />and are as follows: Arcade & LaBore Road Area, Ditch 7A, LaBore to <br />NSP Easement; Demont Avenue from Jackson Street to Canabury Drive; <br />and Demont Avenue from Rice Street to Jackson Street. <br />The Engineer outlined the following priority 3 projects: Allen Flvenue <br />from DeSoto to Edgerton; Sextant from Arkwright storm drain; Edgerton <br />Street from the existing watermain to Allen Street; and Edgerton Street <br />and County Road D from Allen to D and from D to Arcade. <br />Bill Stenger asked if there would be any effort made to take the water <br />Page -4- <br />
