MINUTES
City Council
May 14, 1986
Lift
Station
(Cont.)
that the City will bid this year that this could be included with.
Nardini pointed out that the Centerville Road culvert as well as
the Morrison Avenue siphon would be good examples.
Fahey suggested that at the May 28 meeting the Council consider the
priority the Engineer gave to the proposed storm sewer projects in
the City.
The Clerk suggested that none of the projects be eliminated, because
if the Council wants to add them in later, this would require another
City-wide public hearing.
Blesener agreed that the Council may not want to drop any of the
projects, but may want to change their priority.
The Engineer reported that he is putting tooether a report listing
all the projects that will be distributed to the Council, the Bond
Consultant and the approving attorney.
Blesener questioned that with the City's mill rate at 10 mills,.there
is no room for any additional projects. The Clerk believed that the
Auditor had provided room for other improvements.
Fahey suggested that after the May 28 meeting, the City should set
a workshop as was requested by the Auditor.
Water TheEngineer reported that the State Highway Department will have
Relocation to lower the watermain on Rice Street in con junction with their
On Rice bridge work. The Engineer recommended that the City allow the
Street State to do this work as a part of the total project, and that
the City not get involved in the job.
Agenda
Addition The Engineer further reported that the State is saying that the
City has to pay for the portion of the watermain that is under
the railroad as the City does not have an easement for the main
in this area, but rather a permit.
Mr. Blesener reported that the State is willing to move the main,
but they want the City to pay for this portion.
Mr. Fahey suggested that the City Attorney research this matter
and determine whose responsibility the cost of moving the main
will be.
Blesener agreed that the Attorney and Engineer should research this.
Blesener felt that the cost liability is the State's and not the
City's.
Page -19-
