NIINUTFS
City Council
June 25, 1986
4lorrison
Avenue
Drainage
(Cont.)
Council discussed the fact that the culvert pipe v~as put in
a,uickly and perhaps ~,vas a mistake.
Scalze pointed out that the situation has changed enough that the
culvert should be removed as storm sewer is nos~~ proposed for
f4orrison. Also, the property oevners in the area want the culvert
removed.
The City Engineer stated that should the culvert be rernoved the
storm sesver size waould have to be increased from 21 inches to
24 inches. Ho~~aever, the culvert pipe could be salvaged and used
in another location.
Pahey suggested that the Council not act on the removal of the
culvert until after the public hearing at ~~rhich the storm sewer
for h1orrison is considered and acted upon.
In the meantime, however, the Council felt that the grade for the
area should he set.
Scalze suggested that ~;~hen the grade is determined the f3uildiny
Inspector should be alerted so that when building permits come
in for the Kath lots, these grades will not be above that set
by the ~ngineer.
Pqr. ~ahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION ~70. f36-6-262 - UIRFCTING THE
CITY ENGINEFR TO SET GRADFS I61 TNE P10RRISON
AVEPdUE AREA TO fNSURF MQ FURTNFR TOPO(',P.APHICAL
PRO[3LFfnS tlITFI THIS AREA PEPIDI~If THE STORf1 S[:I~IER
/1id~ S7RCET IF~PROVEt~1EPJT FIFARIP~G
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by i-1s.
