MINUTES City Council July 23, 1986 I-p Mr. Collova pointed out that the Council initiated this rezoning District in order to hear from the property owners. (Cont.) Nardini pointed out that there is the possibility of using tax increment financing to pay for the improvement of DeSoto. The Planner agreed that tax increment financing could be used for this purpose. Nardini felt that since there are other options available, the Council should not lessen the size of this industrial property. Mr. Wilson, property owner on the east side of DeSoto, was concerned that the Planning Commission previously denied Mr. Kelly's proposal for medium density housing. Wilson asked if this were a possibility on the west side of DeSoto. Fahey replied that the Council felt that if there is R-1 on the east of DeSoto that is what would be most compatible on the west. Blesener pointed out, however, that the property owners do not want this land rezoned. Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 86-7-331 - ELIMINATING FR0~9 FURTHER CONSIDERATION THE REZONING OF THE WESTERLY SIDE OF DESOTO AVENUE TO R-1 AS PROPOSED QASED ON THE COMMENTS FROM THE PROPERTY OWNERS AND NEIGHBORS IN THE AREA The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Ms. Nardini. Ayes (5) Fahey, Nardini, Scalze, Blesener, Collova. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 15, Page 388. Gardner Fahey suggested that a public hearing be set to consider bringing Proposal sewer and water to the Gardner property. Agenda It was the concensus of the Council that Mr. Gardner should make Addition this request of the City. Mr. Gardner suggested that he and Mr. Kelly get together and discuss this issue and come back to the Council. Recess At this point in the meeting, 9:10 P.M., Council took a short recess.
