MINUTES
City Council
Dec. 23, 1986
Klein Scalze agreed with Klein that the fence was supposed to be satisfactory
Fence Matter to Mrs. Klein. Scalze asked where the communication problem arose.
(Cont.)
Fahey suggested that perhaps the Council should talk to McCulloch
about the matter and see if he is willing to replace the fence.
The Planner reported that he has discussed the fence problem with Mr.
McCulloch many times and informed him that the fence is facing the
wrong direction and should have been chain-link from the bacl< of
the Klein house forward to Rice Street. The Planner agreed that Mrs.
Klein did indicate that she wanted the fence like the Speedy
Market fence, however, it may have been his misunderstanding that
the fence was to have been identical. The Planner indicated that
he informed Mr. McCulloch that the fence was not in compliance with
Mrs. Klein's wishes.
Scalze pointed out that when Speedy Market wanted to expand, they
were good neighbors and there were no problems. Nowever, the situation
is not the same in this case.
Scalze felt that the minutes should be researched
to determine what assurances were made.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 86-12-555 - TABLING ACTION ON
TNE KLEIN FENCE MATTER'UNTIL THE JANUARY 29,
1987 COUDICIL MEETING AND INSTRUCTING THE CITY
PLANNER TO CONTACT MR. McCULLOCH REGARDING
THIS MATTER AND ADVISE NIM OF MRS. KLEIN'S DESIRES
WITH REGARD TO TNE FENCE AND SHOULD P~cCULLOCH NOT
WISH TO COMPLY WITH MRS. KLEIN'S WISHES, REQUESTING
McCULLOCH ATTEND THE JANUARY 28, 1987 COUNCIL
MEETING AND FURTNER INSTRUCTING THE CITY PLANNER TO
RESEARCH THE MINUTES IN REGARD TO THIS SUBJECT
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by P4r. Blesener.
Ayes (5) Blesener, Fahey, Collova, Nardini, Scalze.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 15, Pages 672 and 673.
Senior Mrs. Hess appeared before the Council expressing interest in the
Citizen Possibility of senior citizen housing in the apartment buildings
Housinq being constructed on Little Canada Road. Mrs. Hess reported that
her mother is currently in a senior citizen apartment building.
Agenda However, the apartment is being converted into condominiums and the
Addition seniors either have to buy their unit, vacate the unit within 60
days, or pay increased rent of $45 per month.
Page -15-
