MINUTES
City Council
Dec. 23, 1986
Imp. No. Council felt that if watermain improvement were ordered, it should
87-1 (Cont.) be located along the blater Works property and not loop the entire
area.
The Engineer presented a proposal for storm sewer for the area.
P9rs. Anderson, owner of the trailer park on Rice Street, stated
that storm sewer is needed in the area of her trailer park as
Mr. Kath has installed a pipe that is draining into the existing
ditch in the area which is causing water problems on the back of
her property.
Fahey suggested that the storm sewer improvement could wait until
other properties in the area develop.
The Engineer reported that if Soo Lane is built, storm sewer would
have to be installed between the McGough and Deeb properties as
the road will drain to this point and the water will have to be
directed somewhere.
The Fngineer also pointed out that when the property develops, there
will be additional blacktop in the area that will cause more run-off.
The Engineer a1so proposed storm sewer along Woodlyn Avenue which
would direct water to a ponding area located to the north.
Fuel Economy reported that there is a storm sewer in this area
that already directs the water to this ponding area.
The Engineer stated that his proposal would continue the existing
storm sewer and that the ponding area would be acquired by the
City.
Scalze asked how far the blacktop for Woodlyn Avenue extends.
The Engineer replied that it extends the length of the street, however,
the street is in poor condition.
Again, Mr. McGough suggested that the road be extended to the
southern boundary of the Donovan property at this time. This would
involve a minimum amount of money and would satisfy the Code
requirements so that Cellular One could develop.
Nardini pointed out that a few years ago the Council and owners
agreed that the property owners would put in a gravel road in the
area for emergency access. However, this was never done.
Greg Deeb reported that the City Engineer was to survey the area,
which was done, but after that the property owners heard nothing
further on the matter.
Page -9-
